8103 flap and landing switch mix

Is there a way to use the 3 position landing switch to bring the flaps down in two steps with the middle position partial deployment and lower (landing) position with maximum deployment? If possible, I'd also like to have the flap potentiometer disabled except when the switch is all the way up. If I can't do that, how do I keep my servo from going too far when I'm stupid (i.e. using both switch and flap pot at the same time)?

Start by going to the flap pot function, and setting it to 100% flap pot full. Then set up a flap to flap mix in program mix 4, press select until the arrow points at Offset. Rotate the flap pot to the full negative mark. Then press clear to store an offset. Then if you want to inhibit the pot, return to the flap pot function and press clear until you have inhibited it. Then go back to the mix, press select until the arrow points at SW. Press the + key until it says ELE>F. Then press select until the arrow points at the rate adjustments. Move the flap switch to the up position and enter in a percentage. Then recenter your servos with the flap switch in the up position. Adjust the percentage in the mix such that you get the amount of flaps you want moving from the up position to the center position.

I don't see a way to dissable the pot except if you want it inhibited at all times. You could set the flap pot to just be a trim pot so it does not have a large effect.

RE: 8103 flap and landing switch mix

Thanks for the advice. That exact sequence didn't work for me (I probably misunderstood) but while trying to do it your way I managed to get it figured out and got a bonus of limiting the travel with the flap pot like I wanted. I ended up with a touchy config, though. I have to change multiple settings to adjust anything. What a flexible transmitter! I wish there was a good book on all the in's and out's of programming it. Even after 4 years it keeps surprising me.
