8231s on ailerons

Danny, IF I am extremely careful with matching and setup, can I run two DS8231s on each of the ailerons of my 33% H9 Sukhoi without matchboxes?

It may be possible to do that, but it will take much care with mechanical set up if using a Y to connect the servos. You will need to adjust the mechanical set up (matching the servos together that center and throw the same, distance out on the control horn, distance out on the servo arm, and pushrod legth) such that there is no binding between the servos. An amp meter in line such as HAN172 will help set it up properly.

Okay, I'll try it. Thanks.

More Questions:

1) Do I want to use JRPA133 Y-harnesses or can I use non-amplified Ys with the 8231s.

2) What are the torque & speed specs on the 8231 at 6 volts?

Thanks!

RE: 8231s on ailerons

1. If using a PPM or SPCM receiver you will want to use the standard Y harness without the amp, JRPA135. If using ZPCM, you will want to use the amplified Y, part number JRPA133.

2. I don't have the exact spec at 6 volts available, but it should be 100-105 oz-in and around .19 sec/60 degrees speed approximately.
