50 mhz Transmitter Modules . .
 

I'm about ready to take my Technicians license, so I'll be shopping for a radio to use on 50 mhz. I'd like to purchase an 8103, but I'm concerned that the Transmitter modules won't move to the new 9x. I realize that the 9X isn't something being sold now, but generally do the transmitter modules move around the 'P' series radios at will(10x, 8103, etc)?

Another quick question along this same line: Do I have to purchase new receivers when I go 50mhz? Is there some 're-tuning' or 'upgrade' that can be done for these receivers?

Danny will have to answer about the new 9X. My 50 mhz modules are interchangeable between my 388S, 8103 and 10x.

You will have to get 50 mhz receivers. I've looked at what it would take to modify the 72 mhz down to 50 mhz and it's not worth it. You'd never find the parts on the open market.

It is not cost effective to modify equipment from 72 to 50 Mhz. You will need to purchase new receivers. The new 9 channel will use the standard modules.
