JR Radio for 3d

I am new at 3d flying using a 631 radio. I want to upgrade to more advanced 3d flying. Will the 662 satisfy my needs or should I go to the 378 or 8103.

I had the same dilemma. The 421ex and 631 sit in the shed and I fly the 662. in hindsight, I would have bought the 378, but it wasn't on store shelves when I bought the 662. The only thing I miss is the flap to aileron mixing. You need the 7-channel or better for that. Both the 662 and 378 have similar programming and mix capabilities, but the 378 adds 4 snap rolls, the extra channel and glider software. The 662 is a fine radio, but I have two planes that would be a bit more fun with the flaps and ailerons swinging together. Whatever you do, don't try to save money. More often than not, the "I wish I had's" make me open up the check book and write an "I glad I finally did" check.

The 662 is capable of much of the requirements for 3D flying. But the 378, 8103, and 10X do have more features that will allow you to do more with more channels and more mixing. The answer is dependent on your budget, and what features you need for the planes you are going to fly.
