Default DA 150 enough for 3.2 Extra 300??

Hey guys,

I have been looking at the JTEC 3.2 Extra 300 as possibly my next IMAC bird. But I have a DA 150 sitting around that I would like to use, only problem is I am not sure if the DA 150 on cans will be enough power for this plane to fly through the upper classes of IMAC. What do you guys think? Do you think runing Grieves pipes instead of cans will make a differnce worth the price difference?

Thanks,

Neil

Hi Neil,

Actually a 150 will be good. If you can add the KS 1090 or grives it will be outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 300 is about 1 to 1.5 pounds lighter than the old 330 which was basically flown with 150's (all brands) The 330 won the NATS several years ago on a 150

Basic thing is to watch how you stuff the plane with optional equipment and graphics. That all add weight. If you decide to add tuned pipes its a very easy mod The performance increase is well worth the slight increase in cost over canisters.

Please feel free to call us if you have any additional question on the planes and setup.

Thanks for considering our products

Hi Al,

In your opinion, which pipes are better KS 1090's or Manfred Grieves? I am mainly going to be using the plane for IMAC with the occasional 3D but nothing major.

Thanks,

Neil

KS 1090's is what we prefer. From our experience they are not as peaky as the greves and are overall better quality. Also if you decide to go with cans or tuned pipes I suggest the MTW 90mm drop flex headers, they are perfect for the plane.
