I just wanted to throw a special congrats out to Sam Difatta, a K-80 owner, who just sent me his turbine in for its 3RD servicing!!!! He now has 5,044 minutes or 84.06 HRS!!! The gauntlet has been thrown, so see if you can catch him or pass his flying the begeebus out of his Boomerang.... I feel like the Maytag repairman and the Bonanza reruns are getting old... Get to buring diesel!!!!

Yes, I am in California and I also do a lot of the International services as well. I have a state of the art balancing machine and a full supply of parts for all our turbines. Our turn around time is usually under a week. Looking forward to doing your first 25hr service interval!!

Hi Dirk, are you the official King Tech service guy for the USA? I am just trying to feel out where service gets done for these motors. Very interested in them! Not ready to buy until later this summer but I am watching.

Do you guys see any increased wear and tear with deisel vs. JetA? What oil do you recommend if burning deisel? I have equal access to deisel and kerosene and I suppose the price is pretty similar since I can pump kerosene out of a "non vehicle" kerosene pump that is tax free. Just curious about the difference. Thanks!

You will be making a great choice coming over to the KingTech family when you decide to make the jump into turbines. If you read any posts about our turbines, you will find we out perform our customers expectations. We have outstanding accelleration and most importantly, RELIABILITY!! We do authorize and recommend the use of diesel with our turbines along with Kero & Jet A. We offer a great oil product that you can purchase from Barry through our website or just a phone call away. We offer a great price @ $90.00 for 2 GALLONS shipped to your door step. We have had bad coking build up with the use of Aeroshell oil products and don't recommend the use of it. I have NOT noticed any signs of wear or damage to our turbines by running diesel, so feel free to burn as much diesel as you can in our turbines. As I stated in the prior post, I am KingTech's Service Center based here in California. I also handle service for our International customers as well as Factory warranty work. A lot of our customers have called us 7 days a week for Tech support and if we don't answer, we call back with in minutes.

Hi Dirk, I'm a previous Jetcat and current Wren owner/operator, been flying turbines for about eight years now. I really like what I see with the Kingtech stuff. Thank you for the reply!

PS, I still have what's left of a case of "Mobile Jet Oil II", probably 8 cans left and I've used this with my Jetcat and Wren engines with no issues what so ever. Are you aware of any sort of incompatibility with this brand and the KingTech engines? Specifically I'd probably be looking at the 140K. In the future I'd prefer to move forward with the newer synthetic 2 stroke oils you guys sell and recommend for toxicity (or lack there of) compared with turbine oil.

Eddie I am using Mobil jet II in a 170 and its doing fine. I read somewhere that the JetII is fine in these engines.

We retired an aircraft that used jet II so I have a ton of it and don't want it to go to waist lol.

Great to hear, and thanks for the feedback! I have a bunch and would prefer to use it as well!! When it's gone I'll transition to the newer oils.

Dirk; I have a140F (005). I sent it in for service last November, and it runs great.
Only one thing bothers me. It takes a full miniute to start. It never took that long last year.
Is there something I can do to change this?

So I received a few turbines this week that needed my attention. The nice shinny bearing you see on the left is from a K-170F, 22hrs, kingtech oil ran with deisel, crash repair. The black, crusty bearing you see on the right side, is from a K-140E, 10 hrs 34 minutes sent with a complaint of the rotor sticking. The reason the rotor is sticking is pretty obvious!!! Stay away from using Aeroshell 500 with your KingTech Turbines. Your Turbine will be much happier!!!

Thanks Dirk for the great service on the 140. This confirms what I have thought all along on the aero shell oil. it was not designed to be mixed with fuel. I will be using Kingtech oil from now on. George

Does is safe to use 2.5% of oil in the mixture on 5gallons of jet fuel, or Is imperative to use 5% of oil?

5% oil Kerosene or 3% oil in Diesel.

I use 1 quart to 5 gallons of Kero.

Be aware, also use 5% of oil in the diesel fuels, Kingtech has changed his policy about that, see the latest feb. 2015 manual.

This is on the FAQ page: www.kingtechturbines.com so I'm a little confused now. Should this FAQ also be updated?

Q. What would be the oil mix for Diesel?
A. We require a 3 to 5% oil mix for Diesel and I do a 3.125% mix, basically, I take an empty 5 gallon can and put in 1/2 quart of oil and pump in 4 gallons of diesel, this makes the can very easy to pour into your fueling can and I have a few of these reserve cans rotating in use.

There the manual is updated later then the FAQ I would stick to the manual.
That`s what I also inform to my customers also due to the experience I had with my own turbine during the maintenance.

Does anyone know if there is something going on at the Kingtech Service Center? I had to return my new K140 (for the second time) to get a fuel leak fixed. I received notice from Kingtech that the turbine was received two weeks ago, I have not heard anything since. I sent Barry ([email protected]) an email a few days ago and have not received any response. I also tried to call but the voice mail never picked up, it just rang and rang. This is very unusual for Barry, he always responds within a day or sooner.
