I'm not getting that much smoke off of idle on my K80G - maybe a small puff when I bump the throttle. Most of my smoke is at shutdown and for the first few seconds when cooling. Probably the specific diesel blend you are getting. So far (~3.5 hours on the turbine) it's doing great with diesel.

This is normal .you should see the smoke from my k-170f when I used some truck diesel and it's much less when I got the car diesel on the speedway gas station.

I use diesel and DTE Light (smoke was less with Jet a1).
turbine has about 18 to 19 hrs and will be send for service early 2015

Turbine runs great, never missed a start and never had a flame out.
