Default K-260G2 reviews

I see the K-260G2 is coming out. It may be too early, but anyone flying one on a regular basis yet that can provide a review? This is a strong candidate for my next EA Havoc project.

Thanks...Scott

I have one coming.
Probably should build a test stand.

Very happy to report guys, these are finally here. The MAP pricing had to be adjusted by the factory to $3450, but we'll be doing a $3350 intro discount until end of March.

Thank you all for your interests on this engine, please contact me if you could use one, very limited availability at current time.

Regards,
Barry

We had one on our testbench a while ago. It does produce 260N. EGT off the scale. We only measure up to 999C. ECU shows 500 odd.... Seems this is the norm though. Other engines we have tested showed the same disparity. When the entire backend is bright orange to yellow white you know its not 500C

We are running one in the Skymaster ViperJet XXL. Excellent combo, engine flawless so far. We originally wanted and flew it with the borrowed K-310. It was a brute for this airplane. The 310's were/are held up right now so we went with the 260. Glad we did. Plenty of power in the vertical and with the 180mph speed limit on the airframe we just didn't need that much engine. A real joy to fly and engine is awesome. Will report any issues if they occur. Less than 10 flights in right now.

I got 6 flights on th Feibao Swordfish with the K260 yesterday. The spool up is not as fast as the K210 but it reached ~113000 to 114000 rpm without a problem. Stressed it as much as the airframe can. Clocked it at 199.99 mph. It was good to see some high speed rifle rolls in this 122" jet. Surprisingly with throttle management - I got the same time as I did with K210.
The idle thrust was a small issue with the K260 on the swordfish - I have maxed out crow already and it still was not slowing down as much as it did with the K210.
All in all - very happy - now to put it in the Mephisto.

What's the weight of your Mephistoa and what are your expectations with the 260?
I'm going with a 260 also on mine till the 310 is back

I have not finished my Mephisto yet so cannot comment on the weight. I'd say that the performance should be great. Rolling circles, flat spins, etc should be OK. Hover might be last few mins of the flight if any.
