Corsair Canopy
Hello,
Anyone have any good ideas on installing a canopy on a top flight Corsair 60 gold edition? What Iwas thinking is to epoxy some thin birchplyto the inside all around the bottom edge of thecanopy and make a shoulder on the fuse so it fits flush, and screw it down with the little button head screws. IDONOTwant to epoxy it to the fuse, because I am going to install the scale cockpit, and want to be able to get in there if I ever need to. Just looking for any ideas that may be out there. I just don't want the canopy to crack where I put the screws.
Thanks!

RE: Corsair Canopy
I have screwed several canopy's down with the little button head screws the plastic holds up fine without any extra strengthening just pre-drill your holes in the plastic and you will be fine.
I also place a little extra piece of balsa sheeting at the screw locations if there no in a spar and harden the holes with thin CA, just make sure the CA is totally dry because the fumes will fog the canopy permanently.

RE: Corsair Canopy
A good way to keep the canopy from cracking is to cut "washer thin" pieces of fuel tubing & use them between the screws & canopy. They will act like a "lock washer" & will keep the canopy from cracking.
