Default Uhhhhhhhh lil' question

I know things have changed in the last few years.
I've got a battery question for a kit I'm building.

Want to stick with Ni Cads number 1.
Will be using 5 Hobbico Cs73's and two smaller servos. (1 for emergency switch and 1 for throttle)

Suggestions on battery pack size.

Thanks,
BB1

What size/type of plane and what type of flying do you like to do?

If this was my plane I would use dual battery set up.I can't tell you how many times this has saved my planes. Just my two cents worth

Welp, we've learned a lot in the last 24 hours about batteries.
I think I'm caught up.
Time to replace the Ace DigiPulse, Diamond TurboCharger, on to a better charger and BIGGER battery packs,

Thanks folks, appreciate it

I use a couple of hobbico elites for charging and cycling. Average pack size is 2700ma, have a few 3600ma, and one 4200ma. All but one are 4 cell. Two of my planes have 3 batteries, rec, servos, ignition.

I orded a Thunder AC6 just a few minutes ago.
Ya never know what I might get off into battery wise.
I'd have bought a new radio, but have a JR 8103 that has very little time on it and recievers in 5 planes for it.
Maybe next Christmas. Ho, Ho a Visaing we will go.

Read the FAQ concerning A123 batteries on Hang Times web site. Red Schofield aslo thinks very highly of these cells. They have outstanding discharge characteristics, huge amperage pulses can be drawn. ideal for digital servos. Plus they stay charged unlike NiCad or NiMh cells. They also last unlike NiMh cells. Their only draw back is cost and they have special charging characteristics. Your new charger will charge them so you are good to go.
