Nice photo of the stuff from the Unlimited Plane Supply truck! Will follow the build and wish you the best of luck. I agree with the other posters that the engine is a great choice.

Thanks. I was torn between the Saito and getting another OS, but I went with the Saito because of having the two rocker arm covers and how it reminds me of an old school Harley.

Looking Good!

The pictures are crystal clear, thanks to your new lense!!

Ok, the flying weight of this airplane is suppost to be 4-3/4 pounds. I have a Edge 540 profile plane thats 6.5 pounds with a saito 56 and a 12x6 prop, and it pulls it like it weighs 1 pound.

Its nice when you have flat bottom wings. Building goes so much easier!!

Making good progress.

Gary...........got my 4* on Tuesday and tonight finished the right wing panel........only about an hour a day free right now. Hope to have the left wing panel done over the weekend and the right and left halves joined. Now trying to come up with a trim scheme. Had a hard time finding this kit but with the help of Google I found it in MO.

Any progress on the build Gary?

Nice toy, but I'll stick to my 4 wheeler, can't afford to fall on my rump anymore

I LOVE CHRISTMAS IN MARCH!!! lookin at all that shiny new stuff gives me the fever. i've been itching for a TF P-40 and trying to hold out for winter or fall, at least. you're making it hard. what are you flying right now? do you still have the LT-25? i finished my kadet MKII a couple of months ago and got too anxious and put the wing from my LT-25 on it just to get some time in the air. the fuse from the LT had a bit too much runway rash??? i guess to keep going. a lot of it was from the previous owner. i couldn't get the epoxy to work right after a couple hard landings of my own. the MKII fuse is great for the LT wing though. i think it's a little slower, even. enjoy the build though. is it laser cut?

Hey Gary, I just got my 4* kit last Thursday. I have a OS .52 four stroke ready todrop in.Had a pretty busy weekend but was still able to get each wing about done; still have some sheeting to go. This is a really easy build but for some reason I keep making really stupid mistakes. Fortunatelyall were easily fixable. If all goes as planned I shouldbe able to finish the wingstonight and it looksthe fuselage will be a quick job. I had big plans to do all the mods but I want to get her in the air soon so I think I may build all according to the plans and then get another one to mod this winter. I really like the sheeted turtledeck and balsa cowl look that others have done.

How do you like your Canon 7D? I bought one last Spring and love it. So far I still have just the stock lens because all of my funds keep going into airplanes.

BTW, I put a Saito .62 in my Cub and that is the sweetest sounding engine I've ever heard. It idles like aHarley Davidson. Just when I think it's going to die it just keeps barking.

I have fallen behind guys. I have had a few new projects pop up along with a broken collar bone and some busted up ribs. I pulled the 4*40 off the board for now to build another Kadet LT40. I haven't been flying for awhile and thought I should get back to basics.

Aiden88. The .52 should be perfect in your 4* especially if you can keep the weight down to about 5lbs. My Magnum .52 4 stroke dealt with the plane with authority!

The Canon 7D? Er, it's gone. Since I'm getting back into motorcycles and racing RC cars, I had to cut back on something and I was made a decent offer. I have a pretty good Canon SX30IS that I use way more often anyway, so I'm rolling with that.

Feel lucky to find one Mike! It took me months to find another 4*60 and when I did, I paid the price! Graves RC has one at $155.99.

KitBuilder, If you are looking for a 60 size easy flying sport plane you might call Bruce Tharpe and see when the Venture 60 will be available again. I am just gettting ready to paint mine. Also, the Ultrasport 60 from Great Planes is on sale at Tower Hobby. I just bought one to put on the build list. I would imagine when the current production run is over the kit will no longer be offered.

Gary here's a pic of my second 4* with a saito .56. It has 1 bay removed on each wing and the rudder enlarged 3/8 to a 1/2 on the taper. I also went with the stock single aileron servo to keep it lite.
The Saito 56 is perfect for my plane, plenty of power, sips fuel and sounds awesome without being loud. Have tried a lot of different props and for my style of flying , an APC 12x7 seems to work best.
I find it hard to build in the summer, just so much other fun stuff gets in the way. lol

Gary, sorry to hear you got busted up. I assume motorcycle related, right?

My 4* build is progressing right along. Fuselage is done, wings are getting closer and I hope to join them tonight.

It is supposed to be 98 degrees today with heat index around 104. I'm sure glad I'm building this in my basement where it stays about 65 degrees.
