Default G/P Corsair

Hi am building this plane.
Does the only thing that stops the tailwheel assembly sliding up and down, in the plastic bushes ,be the rudder hinges ???
Would you suggest putting in a third hinge for strenght ??
Has anyone had a failure in the hinge area because of this ??
cheers torp.

Default G/P Corsair

I have built two of these over the last six years, and I think I slid a washer on the strut and JB Welded it just below the bottom nylon bushing to take up the shock of the tail wheel. If the tail wheel wire wasn't totally bent, I may have used a wheel collar instead of the washer. I too didn't like the idea of letting the hinges bear all the load.

It is a great flying little airplane!

Default They must have tested it

Thanks for that ,it just didn't seem to be right as built by the plans
They must have tested it though.
Might put in a extra hinge.
cheers torp.

Default Hi

I thought your alias was familiar!

I had not check far enough to see if you were one of the many great pilots the helped me on my way. Just having pilots encourage me to continue was a great boost.

So far the plane has worked fine. But I have not flown it very often. I promised myself that I would not fly a second plane until I had flown my trainer for year. That event is coming up soon

Was a cloudy day and was about 50m off in perception of distance
Little damage at all .he he. lucky me..........
Don't want to do this to the corsair !!!
Have a T/F 60 corsair waiting in the wings as well.Started getting parts for this .
