Cambria 1/4 scale tri- pacer
I am framing the wing panels on my tri- pacer and it shows the aileron servo at the inboard rib bay along with the flap servo. It shows a mechanical setup with a 90 degree bell crank to operate the flaps. Is there a good reason why I could not frame up a servo box at the aileron in a rib bay out in the wing panel and eliminate the long arms and just provide a longer servo extension?

Only reason for not doing what you want is the designer may have wanted to keep weight of servos inboard nearer the centerline. On a big plane I don't think it makes much difference.

The airframe was designed before it became the fashion to mount the servos in the wings. There is no reason why you can't do as you suggest.

RE: Cambria 1/4 scale tri- pacer
Thank you for the responses. I thought thafxa few kit characteristics were due to age of the design. I also believe that a few design items must be left up to the builder. The plans show home made flap hinges. They are U - shaped. I know they are not scale. They don't appear to help with some offset. I want to use an available hinge that I can conceal this kit is a new learning experience but it is coming along nicely. I welcome any tips anyone has on the interior. I have searched threads and forums. I really want to add scale uppolstered seats but I can't fond any advise or guidance on the subject
