No doubt that you can't skimp on these things!!! Looks like it will be a nice plane to teach others on with the economy/long run time of gas. I would get myself a worthy prop though.

Some shots of the guts. The throttle linkage was a bit of a challenge. I extended the arm with a metal servo arm with 4-40 tapped holes and a 4-40 ball link. problem was the link hit the firewall. I opened the hole in the firewall to allow the ball link a full range of movement and glues a block behind to hold the pushrod sleeve. as you can see everything is well anchord with tie straps. I shouldn'r have a battery comeing out this time.

This post reminds me of a few stories of my own..Once we took a trainer out to TEST it in a large deserted college parking lot..right next to our un official field...we were just taxing it around and it became apparent we had a REAL reciever issue.. the plane spooled up a couple times and was nearly airborne totally on its own...scared me to death...It was basically going out of range at about 40 feet...
The other story I am reminded of was a friends Sig Senior... he had been up doing all kinds of rolls and loops..it was way overpowered, it started acting funny so he landed..We looked down into the cabin after the wing was off, and the battery had come loose from its heavily velcro'ed position. the battery had a long extension on it, and during all the rolls and loops had repeatedly fallen down around and through the pushrods for the elevator and rudder.. it was woven and wrapped around those sticks like a python squeezing its prey to death... it was a very lucky thing he landed when he did.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the comments. No I haven’t flown it yet. I’m getting married in a few weeks so I don’t have much free time. All i have left to do is balance the plane and install the remote engine kill switch my friend is making me.
The kill switch will let me kill the ignition from the radio and will also shut down the engine if: loss of radio signal, loss of Rx power. It's almost done then I have to mount it somewhere ill post a pic of it soon.

RE: AMR Aircraft Modeller Research Trainer 26
I re-did all the linkages last week. Having never done a kit or a plane this big I didn’t know what to do for push rods, and the kit didn’t come with them. So i used Z bends and clevises. After reviewing them I wasn’t happy they were sloppy and binding due to geometry. I did some research and spent a bunch of money and made them using ball links and carbon fibber rod with a T-rod core.
I cut the 4-40 treaded rod to length using the ball links and the new horns i got. I then cut the carbon fibber (the ID of the carbon fibber matchers very close to the OD of the rod ie. the rod can't flex inside the tube) leaving just a bit of threaded rod exposed to allow some adjustment to the length of the push rod. I capped the end of the rod with some aluminum tubing so the end wouldn't split (The aluminums ID and the carbon rod OD were very close i glued them with a bit of CA). The carbon rod is held in place with a nut and washer at both ends.

Nice build!
I'm currently finishing the AMR Trainer 26 with flaps too. I did something very similar with the control rods. If anyone else is interested in this plane, I can post some pics. I'm just about ready to finish up and balance everything out. I have the DLE 30 on it with a Xoar 18/8 prop. This is going to be my every day bush plane flyer! I've heard these planes are a blast to fly.

Hey Koop37,
I'm glad to hear you got your plane back together. it looks AWESOME ! ! Don't be afraid to get in contact with the guys at AMR about the issues you have with the kit. There is a AMR 50cc stick thread, here on RCU and the guys at AMR are in the thread quite a few times telling us to let them know of anything with the kit we don't like. I was reading the thread because I'm seriously considering getting one of the kits. I have a 3W60 looking for a new home at the stick just may be the ticket.
Oh, congrats on your wedding too.............
David

RE: AMR Aircraft Modeller Research Trainer 26
@ David Thank you!
I was hoping that someone from AMR would find their way to my thread. I was also hoping to meet them in person at an IMAC event last summer but they didn’t make it, maybe this year...
I still haven't flown the plane yet. I'm waiting till the spring, but i have been working on it.
I acciured a 2.4 radio so i re-did RX, I mod’d the engine to take the single bolt prop hub adapter so I can add a heavy nose cone to help balance. and after breaking off the side wall of the engine compartment flipping the stupid engine (having a hard time getting it to suck fuel) I am building a top cover so my hand won’t catch the side wall any more. I’ll have pics later..
Cheers!

RE: AMR Aircraft Modeller Research Trainer 26
I just built one of these too. If people knew how good this plane flew, there would be a lot more interest in it. It was only my second build, and it was a pleasure. The plane flies like a dream with the DLE 30, and the flaps are well worth the effort although not necessary for landing. I'm going to throw some tundra tires on it and do some off roading here in East TN soon! Here's a pic of mine in flight.

Hello Everyone,
Its been a while. Well the plane flies great! I have only had a couple flights on it. here are a couple videos taken with my buddies iphone.
Ill see if i can get a couple better videos. After the 1st flight i gave it a bunch more aileron control and the 2nd take off was flawless.
Crazy 1st take off
