Help me decide what to build next!!
OK, I need some help deciding what kit I should build next. This is my 2nd year of flying, and I have accumulated some planes already and some kits on the shelf ready to build.
Here's what I have and am flying so far:
SIG 4 Star 40 (built it)
SIG Kadet (built it)
Slow Poke 15 (built it)
Carl Goldberg Anniversary Cub (bought it)
Carl Goldberg Staudacher S-300GS (bought it)
Falcon 56 (given to me)
In progress, I have:
Ultra Sport 40
SIG AeroBipe (.10 size biplane)
So, once I'm done with the US 40 and Aerobipe I need to pick my next build.
Here are the kits on my shelf right now:
Balsa USA Phaeton II
Sterling PT-17 (64")
Sterling P-63 King Cobra (.60 size Maxey Hester design)
Carl Goldberg Anniversary Cub (thinking clipped wing for aerobatics)
SIG Astro Hog
Ultra Sport 60
Great Planes RV-4
Saker (.40 size pattern plane by Solution Aeromodels)
Waco Meteor (.40 size vintage kit by Harco. Same plane as Marchetti SF-260)
P-39 (.40 size short kit from Wing Mfg)
Taurus (vintage pattern plane kit from Classic RC Hobby)
What would YOU build next from my list, if you were me? Vote in the poll and whichever plane has the most votes when I'm ready to start building, I'll do a build thread on it here as well.

The SIG Aerobipe is a small biplane, but Iam interested in building a larger one. The Phaeton IIis on the list!

I agree on the Phaeton. It's a great flying biplane and you'll have loads of fun flying it. It's a very well mannered biplane. I say build it next!!!!

I'm surprised you didn't recommend for me to build the US 60!

I'd say Charlie Tucker's P-63 clipped wing Kingcobra but you need practice modifying kits so build the clipped wing Cub.

You are in your second year of flying, so you need something fun to fly and not too advanced so you can improve your skills.Build the Ultra Sport 60 and fly it every weekend. You will love it.

I wonder after 6 kits/planes and two years flying why you would bother asking anyone. Pick out the plane you like and enjoy it. After your second plane it's your choice and you have some nice choices listed. I would like to build the Cobra but I would have to do a lot of that thinking stuff and decide to clip or not to clip?? You sure have a lot of nice kits for only two years of flying. Very cool!![8D]

I fully agree with your posting as being the "down to earth" (meaning logical) way to go.

Ilike biplanes, but I also like pattern planes. Oh, and Ialso like scale planes and warbirds. Iguess I just like planes! So it's hard to decide sometimes what should be next on the building board.

I'd say the P-39, your lacking a camo war bird.

No problem asking but with that selection I would just build the one I wanted the most. You know your going to build them all. I hope you are making templates so these kits can be built again. When i moved here I tossed all my templates and have been kicking myself ever sense. I have to scroung and beg for some of the templates and plans for the discontinued kits. Sometimes I can find them, sometimes not.

I voted for the PT-19 because that will keep you from asking this question again for at least 9 months

The Phaeton is great, I had the Phaeton 90. Since you looked at a Balsa USA kit, why not discover a new world? Build a Nieuport 17 (it is not too big). Balsa USA kits are great, the sooner you build one, the better. And since you looked at a model with 4 wings, why not look at 4 wings that are also scale?
Good luck with your choice. Whatever you pick, have a blast!

I see no mentions of engines?
Got engines for these kits?
Build the Astro Hog and mail me that cute lil' Slow Poke.

The Slow Poke flies great on the OS 25FP that is on it. It was one of the most popular planes at our local RC air show/demonstration recently.
Thanks!

RE: Help me decide what to build next!!
OK, we have a new addition. While attending the Senior Pattern Association event this weekend, I came away from the raffle with one of the big prizes. A Taurus vintage pattern kit by Classic RC Hobby. This is the same kit cutter who is cutting the "Simla" kits described in one of the Taurus threads here on RCU. The kit is fantastically done and now I've got another option added to the poll.
Keep the votes coming!
