No inner doors. I would have to buy a sequencer and cylinders to operate them and this project just isn't worth the added expense. I am going to put the fill valve, pressure gauge, and switches in the compartment that I made. I did epoxy the tank in the fuse where indicated on the plans.

I thought I would point out that I will probably mount the ignition switch somewhere other than the compartment that I made. As Fabio pointed out, practicality sometimes wins over scale. I have the Spektrum 12ch. Power Safe receiver, and I will be running dual ED Nano 2300mah A123's.

You aren't worried about having to replace the tank at any point? If it's epoxy'd then there really is no way to get it out... That was only my main concern.

I do actually remember the hatch for the fill valve etc now. I might do that as well.

Love what you did with the retract doors that is a really clever idea and it does give it a really nice scale look.

If for whatever reason I would need to change the tank, it should pop outta there with a little force. I'm not to worried about it really. Most leaks occur somewhere else instead of at the tank.

I managed to find time this weekend to finish up the gear doors on both sides. Now I'm ready to glass the bottom of the wing and get this baby primed up and painted.[8D]

I have been waiting on an air compressor to come in from Home Depot for the last two weeks and it finally arrived Monday. I'm looking forward to shooting some primer this weekend at some point.

That's of course after I change the oil in the daily driver, fix a leaky transmission line, mow the grass, weedwack around the house, and fulfill my promise of taking the boy to the movies...

Why the compressor?
Can you just shoot paint from a can?

The compressor I was using didn't have enough CFM to keep up with the HVLP guns I have, so I bought me one that would. I also decided to use Klass Kote epoxy paint on this and I didn't want to have pressure problems when spaying it.
I'm also going to place an order with Mirce for his finish set in 1/6 scale. Some of you might be following his Meister Scale build over in Warbirds. Although P-47's have flush rivets, I think I can get pretty close to scale with his finish set and not spend weeks burning rivets.
Here are a few photos of how Mirce's bird is coming along, Amazing!

Enjoyed the video.
Thanks for the update.
Still wondering why you chose to shoot primer with a gun instead of purchasing Dupli Color primer cans.
At list you don't have to clean the gun when you're done.
Fantastic job, nonetheless.

That's kind of a hard question Fabio. I new that I was going to use a paint that was not available in spray cans going into this. So I thought that this would be a good way to learn how to use a gun. Also I wanted a good bond between the paint and the primer, I don't want any of the paint pulling up when I do the invasion stripes. I have heard of guys having problems when using can primer when they get to that stage. Also, I thought it would be a little cheaper compared to buying a single can of primer for around $6.00

As much as I hate it, I picked them up at HobbyKing when I bought my muffler. 10 of them come in a pack for $1.49. Pretty good compared to Dreamworks or BVM. I don't like getting things from China, but sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do.

Thanks Red.............I ordered 3 packs of them just to make the postage worthwhile. I'm sure I'll find a lot of uses for them.

No problem Andy.

I did order Mirce's Warbird Finish Set from Mirce. I'm looking forward to getting that in the next week or so, and I will make a video when it arrives. The set comes with panel line tape and over 15,000 rivets and screws.
A bargain at $69.00+$10 shipping from Yugoslavia.

I'll look forward as well to see your rivets method.
I am getting tired as well to burn em in the primer as well as with the canopy glue method.

Whoa........hey Gary.........let me know what that package looks like and how I get one. I was not going to do panel lines and rivets but that sounds like I might be tempted. More info please...................
