Top Flite Giant P-47 Build
#2002
Making progress, I have all the servos installed (19), lights working, wiring done. batteries installed, and the gear pneumatic valve. I am waiting on my motor mount to replace the stand offs. I designed a custom mount (standoff) that has better rigidity to the mount.
Right now the plane weighs 26 lbs. without the ignition, ignition battery and pilot, I also need a prop hub. So it looks like about 28.5-29lbs. for a take off weight.

I need to tidy up the wiring, but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Hope it's not a train!
I've been waiting for this for a long time, I hope it flies as good as it looks.

I have been up in sunny Buffalo, NY the last 10 days, but I am back now and ready to continue building.
I did manage to get in one flight off of the snow with my Seamaster.
I will post pics of the stab soon.

Bob here is a couple of pics. It a bit cold to take it outside for a photo shoot. I am trying to find the funds to come to Owatonna this summer, I want to bring my boat and do a little fishing and then spend the weekend at the flyin.

Enclosed is a picture of my current progress (LOL) also is enclosed a picture of my last build (Morrisey Bravo). I have started a build thread of my own but hope you dont mind me poking in every now and then.
Red you are pretty close to me. I sure would like to come and see your bolt sometime and shoot the --it.
Anyway you guys have a good one and keep the green side down.

Thanks. I do have one question right now to all. I am looking for a set of Robarts (pneumatic) for the build used is ok as long as they are straight and work. Anyone have a set laying around? I will not be able to get to my build till late March early April as I am travelling. I do like to have all the pieces in hand so when needed they are there. I am also looking for a used GT60 (magneto) version (used is good). Just a shot in the dark but you dont know till you ask.
Thanks again

Glenn....
I think you are going to have more luck with the engine than the retracts.....very hard to find used laying around.
By the way what kind of engine are you looking for? Did you mean Zenoah G62? If so there are also very good offering on RCU and RCG.
I have it in mine, perfect for the P-47, and if you decide to go with it, make sure you get the cup and spring starter......it is a must !!

Hi Glen,
I get up to Waco a few times a year to fly. I'm going to be up there sometime in the next month or so to maiden a new jet that I have been assembling and get my turbine waiver. Maybe you can come down, HOTMAC is a great flying field, and a bunch of great guys as well.

Do you have an address to the field? I am a field engineer with GE and I travel quite extensively. I will be at college station till the end of March early April. If I can make it for your maiden, I would love to see it. Let me know.
