I forgot to say, I have all sets on stock, so next day after payment parcel with sets will be sent.

Thanks they are all white plastic from the factory and U have to paint them right. U can tell I purchased my TARHEEL finished.
Another question My 12" pilot was too tall even with him sitting righr on the floor no seat or parachute. Had to remove the chute from my 10" pilot too. What have others done? OH anyone know the actual name of the red on the Cowl?

Here's a link to the manual. It shows the cockpit parts (seat, armored floor, turtle deck, back plate, etc), cockpit part color (olive) and covering colors (Missile Red - TOPQ0201).

BTW, not certain which parts you need, but I have extra armored floor, side walls, seat and front dash panel. I don't have turtle deck or aft armor plate. Hobbico/Topflite does not have orderable replacements for these parts as I think they're included w/fuselage.
Let me know if you need any of these parts and I'll send them to you if you cover postage.

I'm assembling my new ARC P-47 now. I plan on using a G.P.88cc gas engine. My stock muffler will not fit without some modification to the engine box. Just wondering if those of you who used a DA 85 or DLE 85 could tell me what type of pitts muffler you used. Or if you have a picture could you post it.

Hi All,
Am trying to figure out the best way to fit the fuel tank and need some inspiration as I have run out of ideas. I am fitting a 24 oz Rotoflow tank and want it to be able to be removed as I want access to the rear engine mount bolts.
At the moment I have a brain fade

Some more gun sights for this Top Flite kit. Model of the scale instrument panel is almost done. I must add more screws and repair some holes.

It's maiden time for my P47 and I'm after a bit of advice. High or low rates for the first flight ? The manual advises to use high rates for the initial flight but I would like to hear your thoughts on the matter. My plane came out at 24 lb and is powered by a DLE 61.

I maidened mine on low rates on the elevator and ailerons. I always setup my planes to give as much rudder as I can get right off the get go. After the first couple of flights I dialed in more aileron as the low rate gives a VERY scale roll rate.
I fly off pavement mostly, so low rate on the elevator does fine, if you are flying off grass and a little nose heavy you might need a little more elevator to keep the plane from nosing over on takeoff and landing.
I've never ran out of elevator on my jug on landing, but I have seen plenty of people that have way to much throw when they flare. That tends to get people in bad situations pretty quick with a warbird ballooning and then stalling.
Are you flying off grass or hard surface? If pavement you will be fine, if grass then maybe dial in just a tad more elevator to keep the prop and gear from pulling her nose over too much.

Of coarse it is a matter of personal preference. I always maiden on high rate. The reason is, if the plane is unstable you might need all the throw possible to recover the plane. If you use only lower rates and you have an bad issue, you might be to busy trying to control the plane to hit the high rate switches. Remember, just because you have the plane on high rates doesn't mean you have to use all the "stick". If you need to use all the "stick" at least you have it. I have been present at to many maiden flights where the pilot "tamed" down the rates to the point where he didn't have enough throw. High rates on a elevator are especially needed on a dead stick landing when extra elevator is needed on a lower speed landing.

Maiden my kit P47 yesterday and put a couple of more flights on her today. Overall very happy. One click of aileron but quiet a few clicks of down elevator. Used the recommended CG at first but found it a bit heavy in the tail for my liking. Moved the CG to the recommended forward position and she flew like she was on rails. She took up a bit of runway when landing at half flap but there was no way she was going to stall on me. We just had our grass strip cut so flew on mid rates. I thought the plane had a nice feel to it at those rates and was similar in handling to my ESM 72" P47. The DLE 61 spinning a 23 X 10 was plenty but it is loud with that jam tin for a muffler. The plane finished up at 25 lb.
