Default Anyone ever build a Lanier 1/4 scale Taylorcraft?

I've had this kit for a few years now and finally am starting the build - going to build the clipped version. Looks to be rather straight forward as far as kits go, lots involved but I guess that's the nature of building. If you've built one of these, did you run into any problems or make any modifications of any kind? The only mod I'm planning on at this point is beefing up the firewall since I will be using gas for power.

One more question - I'm going to follow the manual which starts with framing up the stab/elevator and fin/rudder first. How do you store your built components so they won't warp over time? In the past I've simply stored them flat and un-weighted which has worked fine but am interested in hearing if there's a better way.

Any pointers/input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

I'm going to PM you and ask for a tracing of the parts on "Laser Cut Sheet 6". My kit doesn't seem to have that sheet.

Best wishes,
Dave Olson

Never had any tail surfaces warp while waiting for the other parts to be completed. You could always skip them steps and come back to them later if it would ease your mind. I'll be following your build.
