Thanks to Tom I am supporting SIG's efforts. I have a 1/4 scale and 1/3 scale Spacewalker to build, 4* - 40, LT-40, and a GP Ultra-Sport 60. I need to finish a BTE Venture 60 (paint). Ineed to retire.

Thanks, guys.

For me, building is an enjoyable activity. I'm a history buff, and I enjoy working with my hands. Building provides an outlet for my interests, and keeps my mind working. LOL

I enjoy the challenges provided when building scale models.

As evident in this thread, there are quite a few of us that still enjoy the act of gluing one stick to another.

Joe will enjoy his Sig builds. Those two Spacewalkers are two of the best kits that I've had the pleasure of building.

Tom,
Nice Spacewalkers. What are you powering the 1/3 with? I have had my eye on one of those for a long time.
Later!!

Hi Anthony.

The 1/4 SW II is powered with a Magnum 1.60 twin.

The 1/3 SW is powered by a Sachs 4.2. I know that it is too much power, but I had the motor on hand. It helped in balancing the model, too.

Don

The Stinson is covered in Coverite, and painted with PPG auto.

The Fairchild and Monocoupe are covered in 21st Century Fabric,

The Bravo is Monokote.

I'm pretty sure Tom used Solartex (available from Balsa USA) on both the 1/4 & 1/3 scale Spacewalkers. I will follow suit, but first Ihave to use up a bunch of Koverall Ihave on anything down to .40 powered planes.

Yup, the Spacewalkers are covered with Solartex. The SWII is painted with Nelsons. The 1/3 SW is painted with Rustoleum, with an automotive hardener added.

Love those Sportsters ! Nice job, in a short time.

I built this Ace 4-60, in three weeks. I finished it just before I started my Airmaster.

Snow could arrive at any time, although it hasn't been all that cold. Usually it starts around mid-November.

Progress continues on my IKON Airmaster.
