Some interior pictures of our full scale Cub back in 2006. This very same J-3 was totally rebuilt to new condition in 2010 by the new owner. If you ever wanted to see a J-3 Cub completely torn down and rebuilt to like new condition you can see the tear down and rebuild pictures at this web site. It now has a 90 hp engine. My son & I wish we had it back now!!!!!!!!!!! I have been invited to go fly in it by the new owner. It is just a couple hour drive from OKC.

Wow! Now that is a very realistic looking Interior.
If you took a picture of my panel, you would see the bottom of a Du-Bro fuel tank. LOL

Hi Lowbubba- the easiest way to get the fin fuse covering fillet is to make the stab halves plug into receivers built into fuse. That is what is done on my Super Cruiser bashed from a 1/6 SIG Cub.

I recieved a set of 1/4 scale bungee covers in the mail today from the Cubman..These are a very cool little product that really top the Robart landing gear off nicely. They are very well made and easy to install..Anyone with Robart gear would be happy to have a set...Charles sent them to me for forwarding him some measurments that he needed. I told him it wasent nec so it was a nice surprize and very much appreciated..Thank you Charles..

rafeeki I have never worked with any of the small on board cameras. I have seen some attach to the wing and some have them inside the cabin area. Sorry to be of little help in this area.

Cubman,
I may have to give your plans a thought. I am in the middle of another build at the moment. I may just have to blow them up 160% Would have to see what that would do to the stock sizes without too much re-engineering.
Later!!

Just bought two sets of sig 1/4 scale floats at a swapmeet today. For you float guys out there, what angle do you set the tops of the floats relative to the wings bottom. I have two busa 1/4 scale cubs.

These are already built. There was an instruction book that says 0deg to the wing. But I want to hear what those that have done it, do. Seems I remember awhile back about someone saying you have to have the front tips of the floats angled up a slight amount. Thats counter to what the sig instructions say.
Edwin

I'll take a look, anything specific? Theres a lot on building. What do you mean by everything?

Mine are built. The linkage that attatch the floats to the planeis in pieces. So I just need to know their orientation. Where and how their connected.

Ok Cub experts, something I didnt count on. How is the top door secured? My reference pics dont show a method. It looks like there is a detent that holds it in, true?

Just ordered a set of cubmans L-4 plan's. Looking forward to it.
Edwin, if I'm not mistaken the top door has a lip the bottom door hold's. In the photo the bottom of the top door look's like there's a lip. But don't hold me to it.

I see it now, it looks like a channel the bottom door fits in.

Here is a good picture of the door/window on a J-3. There is a special channel on the bottom edge of the window that fits on the top of the door. In closing you have to line them up as you are pulling shut, then release the inside door handle when closed which lets the slide pins (at top of door front & rear) slide into the holes to lock door. The window section is locked by the door. Pretty simple when you do it. The Hanger 9 1/4 scale J-3 works almost the same way.
Thanks,
Eddie

Acerc, your plans are shipping today by us mail. WacoNut, that would be a large L-4.

For the door, it is a lip or an upside down U channel on the window site that locks in with the bottom half of the door. Take a look at the piper drawing for the window section.

Another interesting fact. I have seen a dozen different ways of holding the window open on the full scale.
