Let me look and see if I can get the panels down to 1/6 I have a 1/5 scale panel. I have had to go to just the basic flat panels.

For Cub Fans...

This photo was taken today at the Arizona Electric Festival. My plane is on the bottom and the top was flown by a younger guy from Team Hitec (Unknown Name). We did about 8 laps in an impromptu formation flying. We both just happen to go up at the same time.

Hi Cubman; I have read some of the postings on your forum for the Cub Brotherhood. I brought Goldburg, GP, and Herr cubs to Topeka Kansas from Derry New Hampshire, along with a handfull of other planes and kits when I moved a little over a year ago.
I am interested in joining the Cub Brotherhood. Thanks Tom Pfeiffer The cubflyman

Pics of progress on my BUSA 1/4 scale cub. I still work so progress has beeen slow. I am building it as a PA18 Super Cub and am now starting the tail. Nice thing I have is Cad and a big printer so I can print my own plans. This one will be on floats that I drew for myself and Sherman89 his are on a Hemple 1/3 scale.

Hey Richard,
keep those pics coming. I like the idea of an compartment in the nose. Too often some of the organs are so inaccessible that you literally have to tear the plane apart for repairs.

Richard,
I am also starting today a BUSA 1/4 scale cub. I am building this cub as aj3. What are you going to power this plane with? And cover it with. I am also goin to try and scale this plane as much as I can with the help and advice from the Cub Man. Any words of wisdom are welcome.
thanks,
Chrlie

Seems like I have always had a Cub in varies sizes since I started flying RC in the mid 70s, first one was a 40 size Sig kit. I finally realized that the 1/4 scale Cub was more to my style. Some have lasted longer than others. I have powered them with the Zenoah 38 and have used them to tow banners, gilders and platform for cameras. I have built the J-3 and modified the kit for a Super Cub with flaps. The last one has been flying since 2009. I hope I can post pictures of the Cubs I have had over the years.

Rich
I forgot the one that crashed

I made the bottom with a hatch as seen in the below photo. And the below photo is a good example of why I break my engines in on a stand now.

Pete click on the pic then click on the enlargement button in the bottom right. The arrows point to the seam where there is a hatch. Look closely and you can see the screws in the corners. This hatch is removeable as well as the fuel tank and servos from this opening.

I added circles over the screws.

I see the arrows and circles. What I don't understand the remark you made about breaking in engines on a stand. What is the relationship between engine break in and a hatch on the bottom of the plane?

There is no relation between the two. The hatch is one subject. The oil is a secondsubject,I was just giving a little bit of an excuse for all the oil, and how I keep from getting it now. But then I guess they are related by way of the photo. Depends on how you look at it.
See all that burnt oil on the plane? This comes during the break-in period when running a higher, standard, oil content @ 32-1. I can break them in on a stand and leave all that burnt oil on the stand instead of the airframe. Once broke in I switch to synthetic at a lesser ratio, 45-1,and nothing gets on the airframe. Example: My GP Ultimate is about a year old, DLE 55 engine broke in on stand, and I have not had to wipe it down the first time.

Hi Guys: I just acquired a Dave Patrick Super Cub powered with a G23 engine. I swapped a warbird and got some money outa the deal. The Cub is in very nice shape but the windshield is cracked - I'm wondering if anyone knows where I could go to get a replacement. I thought one from a H-9 1/4 scale might fit but it doesn't. Rats, Mice, etc.
Thanks,
Rocky1405
