Charles.
I checked out the Cub Den, the site looks and runs good.
I am going to try and make it back down your way next year. Was a tough year this year. Anyhow I am re-covering my 1/3 Cub and dressing it up a bit and installing a new engine.
Later!!

My friend was jealous before, he will be Even more so now when he see's it all completed, his is stil being painted and he has to dig up the motor, canopy and other things to finish it. He put it through a tree several years ago, one of those GP Cubs that is supposed to be 1/5th scale but doesnt quite make it, and it is a flying brick, I will probably fly the circuit twice at half throttle while he does one at full throttle.
After I rechecked balance, I found adding the tail braces moved the CG back further than expected, so had to relocate the battery pack from under the seat to the nose. Amazing what a little weight at the tail winds up being at the nose in make up weight. Still, no dead weight has been added, it all balanced with installed components.

Yeah, you got to watch that tail weight... with all the brass bits I put on mine, changed the cg quite a bit... I don't mind a bit of dead weight, as long as its not excessive.
I think those trees have a mind of their own... we have a bunch of mulberry trees at our field that seem to reach out and get in the way... on more than one occasion they have saved someone from getting seriously hurt, so they have their pros and cons... I've flown a sig kadet into a chain link fence thinking I was on the right side of it, when I was clearly on the wrong side; wasn't pretty to watch, lol... what they need to come up with are some proximity sensors, so you can't fly into anything, but then that takes all the fun out of flying.
I hope to see some images of her flying soon.

Cubman, do you have any in fourple X? Three X will do but I just don't like binding and they shrink first time you wash them.
I have been away for a while and don't know what they cost. Please let me know. I get paid fourth wednesday of the month. Don't care about getting it fast or in time for anything.
John M, I guess you got my message on Stearman site cause I'm back on this site in a couple of days. Many thanks. I missed 'shooting' at you guys-with you guys.
Some of the projects since I've been gone look pretty nice. Been doing a lot of building for a friend,(85 and had a stroke last year around the time of my heart attacks) so he can get them finished before he tipps over! A very nice man and likes my work!
Electrifying a Dago Red, O K Model ARF I came across for myself. Always liked them.
Gotta go for now, good to get back in the fold guys.
bird.

Nice looking T-Shirt Ace... I don't wear T-Shirts, its just not my thing, but they do look like they're hi-quality... a leather flight jacket would be more up my alley, but too expensive for something I may only ware on few occasions.
