***CUB BROTHERHOOD***

They are a rare variant unlike the Continental powered Cubs. The drawback is a radial usually cost more to maintain then a flat horizontal. Still it wasn't the first Cub to sport a radial there was the Taylor E-2. The J3P looks similar to the American Eaglet 230 and the Rearwin Junior.

If anyone is interested in a set of Tundra/Bush wheels let me know. I have two pair for sale. For whatever reason that I am not even clear on I ordered 4 pair. I guess my thought process was they were such a pain in the ass to get that I'd order extras in case anyone else wanted a set. I have two more pair to get rid of. Here they are:

They're 200mm (~8")
$75/pair+shipping
If you're interested PM me and we can work out the details.

three cylinder cubs
Piper made about 30 J3 Cubs with two different radial engines. The engines were a Zekley and Lenape Papoose. Only one is left flying and it was a conversion back to a J3P. I believe it is in Oregon. I saw it at Oshkosh a few years ago.
I have a 1/3 scale J3 with a Saito 450 three cylinder radial. The Saito looks almost like the LaNap Papoose.
I have attached two pictures. I haven't gotten around to making a cowl yet.

I think it's water Bob, look at the wing cuffs and leading edge. Although it looks like bugs too on the w-shield,but no bug parts on the prop or cowl to indicate that!

Try a Xoar, but be forewarned... they're pricey. I seem to have noticed a nice difference when using them, though

I don't see them on the Tower Web Page but Zoar has a number of classic looking designs.

How about the Falcon civilian style... looks good, but I don't know how they perform... I'm going to use one of those Xoar PJD laminated propellers and round off the tips, then paint and add the brass armor, but I think I'll use it for display purposes only.
