John M,
I think my next one will be a Cubman plan built L-4. I have the plans, the lumber, and electronics.

An L4 would be nice... but you should replace that clipped wing cub, those colors you choose really pop on that model

If I did another cub, it would definitely be 1/3 scale, and I would take it to full scale detail, tubed frame and all.

Stop it, you made me want to do a 1/3rd now. I have no more room! Besides, with a 114" P-61, 101" B-25 and a 168" Rascal sitting in boxes, I have more than enough wood to put together, just no time to do it. Getting close to completing my Biper though! Left wing is being setup, the bottom wing I fixed the aileron, and putting the final color coats on it, mount the servo in the upper wing and move on to the right wing. Then have to figure out its CG. From the looks of it, thinking the leading edge of the upper wing should be a good starting point. Pics as soon as I finish the left wing and mount it.

lol, well I have been temped on several occasions to get that Paolo Severin L4 kit, but since OS stopped producing the FT-300 Super Gemini, I don't know what 4 stroke I would put in it... none the less, I'm just going to hang on for a while and see where the financial situation goes over then next couple years; with all this political BS going on, who knows whats going to happen.

Saito FG 57. Its about a 300 size gas 4 stroke. It would be awesome in a Cub. I was going to fly my Cub today, got to the field and realized I left the small field box at home that has the bolts for the wings. DOH! I was forced to fly my LT-40, P-51 and Something extra instead. No biggy, it was the first time I got to fly the P-51 since I looped it into the ground 2 years ago. Solved the cause of what looped it, too much elevator. I worked on that at the field, had all the rest of my stuff and was able to swap out a servo in the wing that a mouse chewed on. I think there may still be some dog food flopping around in the wing too. Now that I have that one flying again, I am going to focus on getting my monster Extra 330 L in the air, need to redo the fuel lines, and check the balance, and a friend who flies these will help buddy box me on it until I get the feel for it. I am confident I can fly it fine, but its $5000! yeah my other planes have buck in them, but $5000!!!! Its also a composite so not very easy to repair.

Two more weeks and I think my Biper will be ready for its maiden flight. Almost done with one wing, the other will go quicker since I already have the servo tray done.

OMG!! There is a place for us Cub guys! I have several Sig 1/4 scale Cubs. One is in my shop being repaired. One needs me to build a new Cowling. One needs to be final sanded before covering & Finishing.... Most have the OS 160 twin 4 strokes on them. Love that engine.... Good sound and good power, not to mention very easy to start and operate. How do I become a member of the Cub Brotherhood?? I definitely Qualify!
Thanks to all,
Weav

How do you have them setup? Onboard glow, or just tie the two plugs together to a remote jack? I have a Gemini 120ii that I just got, still attached to a plane, but not a Cub. Ultimate Bipe. Need a little work to be flyable, but the engine appears to be in great shape.

I use a McDaniels onboard Glow. Makes it sooooo easy to start and also very simple to light up a plug that might quit in flight. The weight doesn't do a thing at all to a 1/4 Scale Sig Cub. Good Luck..... Now, just help me figure out how to join the Cub Brotherhood!
Thanks,

Thanks Larry.... Cub Man came thru just like you advised... Weav is Cub Brotherhood #267. I will start sharing some pictures of my Cubs in a week or so.
Will also begin asking about the best floats to build for the Sig 1/4 Scale Cub. Both Clipped Wing and Standard Wing......
We're having fun now!

Hi everyone, just found the Brotherhood - Really neat idea.

Please count me in.

I have a set of the full sized L4 Cub pilot's handbooks (including how to fly a piper cub - LoL!), flight, operational and maintenance (servicing for us Brits) manuals. There are a total of 6 pdf documents covering all the variants. They were first printed between 1945 to 1948.They contain loads of accurate information, hard to get details, colour schemes, black/white pictures and scale drawings. A must for a scale fans.

I'll upload them if some of the 'Brotherhood' would like a copy or would just like to view them for the sake of interest.

Regards to all.

Hangar 9 1/4 Scale J3
Balsa USA 1/4 Scale, Converting to L4, Spektrum Radio, OS 160 Gemini, FEMA On-Board Start.

If you cannot post them here, you can put them in a Google Drive folder, Dropbox or similar online file sharing and post the link here for people to access it. If you're unsure how to do this I can help.

If I'm not mistaken you will be good on all but 2 files (indicated in red above). Now if the files are posted elsewhere you can link to them by using the URL upload function and it will direct people to the files.

Thanks for the info, I'm just checking out a few of the online storage sights to upload them. I also have an A3 copy of what, (IMO), is the best set of J3/L4 Scale 3 view drawings (rarer than hens teeth). They were originally published in the English Plans Handbook Scale 3 view drawings catalogue.

Not having used on line storage before, if I upload the documents, can the forum members either print or download the docs for themselves? which is what I would like them to be able to do.

Try it with the smaller files and we'll find out.

I just had another thought you maybe abl to user AeroFred.com. Its a free plans site but they also like 3 views, articles, videos, pictures, etc so you could probably upload them there and then post a link. PM me if you have questions.

Yes, you can set permissions so that people can view, download, upload, delete, access with link, with password, etc. What you want to do is disable people from being able to upload to your folder or delete files but make them viewable/downloadable with a public link, then post the link here in the forum.

I have my Gemini 160 on a H9 1/4 Cub, no on board ignitor. Works like a charm never quit on me. Had to break it in long enough probably 4 tanks full before I put it in the plane.

So, do you have an "Y" with one glow stick, two glowstick etc?
