Radio Install - 65" Champ w/ Saito 72
Hey guys,
Just thought I would share some photos of a Champ I am rigging to fly probably this weekend (one more project out of the way). I have a set of floats for this...but will get it all working right on wheels first!
The kit was built by my wife's Godfather. A man who was a member of our Firebirds club back when I was flying a Falcon 56 when I was about 11 years old. Anyway, I love the way the radio install went on this.
Receiver mounted on the fuse floor underneath the pilot figure.
Pilot figure assembly used as a "retaining wall" for the gas tank to stay in place. Notice the piece of fuel tubing that was slit lengthwise to create cushion against the back of the tank.
Pilot figure installed into position; LED voltmeter installed on pilot figure deck; remote receiver mounted on back of seat rest.
Pilot figure shown as silouette (sp)
Should you find it interesting!
Tom
