RE: Building music.
I like the storytellersAmericanna music is the genre I suppose. Chris Knight is a great example. Ray Wylie Hubbard and Robert Earle Keen from the Texas music scene are awesome also. Some old Kristofferson is always a treat. But if I were stranded on an island and could only have 3 records they would be Nazereth Hair of the Dog, Golden Earring Moontan and Elton John Goodbye Yellow brick road. But that reminds me, if I were stranded, maybe I should choose more than one DOUBLE album! Like Live Bullet Bob seger!!! But nobody asked anyhow lol. Keep on buildin people, the projects are all lookin good, and keep your shop sounding good also!!!

Remember 'Quicksilver', 'Love' (Arthur Lee, et al) and 'Crow Music'? I have some vinyl of Jimmy Hendrix playing with Arthur Lee! I've always liked 'the Ramones', 'UK Subs' and a bunch of that ilk! 'Social Distortion' has some great tunes to build by, too!

IT FINALLY came out . ive been listening to EXTRAPOLATION by mclaughlin lately it just really has some great improvization on it with that real gritty upright bass.

During my latest spout of building, it's been the new cd by Garbage. Especially "Blood for Poppies" and "Battle in Me." Alice in Chains works too though!

I loved that video of Alice in Chains with Gretchen Wilson singing what is normally Ann Wilson's part, especially since Gretchen totally nailed it. What I liked even better was seeing Nancy Wilson walk out and start playing on the right side of the stage. To be doing a song like that with the rock legend that actually recorded it playing along has to be one of the highlites of Gretchen's musical career

I'm not an AiC fan but I will give credit when due, they did a great job on a song that's probably older than many in the band are. As far as I know, Gretchen isn't related to Ann & Nancy in any way except maybe in talent as a vocalist. Too bad Gretchen doesn't spend more time in the studio as I'd like to see her put out another album
