Default New Biplane

Hi guys, I already own a Sig Hog Bipe and I must say that I love this plane, I would like to add another biplane to my hangar, something not to complicated to built; I have flow several biplanes (friend's planes) and I was thinking in a Balsa USA Phanteon II or a Carl Goldberg Ultimate. Any suggestion or recommendation will be appreciated?

If you want something like your Hog, get the Phaeton.

If you want something Sportier that you can really wring out, get the Ultimate.

I'm rather fond of the Super Skybolt. You could really wring that one out as well. (Just ask Minnflyer to show you a couple of his pictures to prove my point! ) My all time favorite so far has been the Sig Smith Miniplane though. It is limited in a FEW areas however, not like the Ultimate or Skybolt.

Look for the posts in this forum with Dreamer in the title. The GeeBee brand Dreamer Bipe is inexpensive, very aerobatic, stable, slows way down to land and is very compact. Take a look.

I didn't recommend the Skybolt only because jucava was asking for a non-complicated build.

That would pretty much eliminate biplanes altogether then, wouldn't it. Granted, the hog is pretty simplistic, however there are still techniques that would have to be utilized, such as incedence on everything because of that top wing, when it may not be so criticle on monoplanes. I say, if he wants to build a bipe, and has people to help both building and flying it, why not get what he wants? I would never say that to a novice flyer, but if a person understands the basics and has some stick time, why not?

Ilikebipes:
Don't intend to get too far off the original subject, but have you ever flown a Sig Liberty Sport, and if so, how do you rate it as compared to the Smith MiniPlane?

You could always go giant scale with a Jack Devine Models, Laird Super Solution. I would like to see this plane in a .60 size kit sometime.
