Hey Jaybird,
I cannot believe it's been over three years since I posted on this thread. Seeing it again sure brings back allot of good memories of people enjoying each others company and watching VJ build a masterpiece. Do you know if VJ is still on RCU? I've also wondered if VJ ever flew his INCREDIBLE Ryan. I've seen a few of the "gang" from this thread on other websites, but I haven't seen VJ or Anthony (Waconut) anywhere else.
Take care,
David

my story about Ryan STA
Hi guys
Ive been reading this thread for quite some time.
My life story led me to leave my country and to be situated in Nigeria for over one year.
Now my work is coming to an end and im spending few months comisioning the plant ive been working on.
I brought Trex 500 helicopter with me and flew it that much, that i can almost say that it was a every day routine.
But, around New Year, i start missing modelling a great deal.
From my 46 of age, ive been making models for 40 of it.
So, having enough free time and almost no worry on my mind, i decided to fulfill my old dream...
That is the short story of how i bought my Ryan.
It was not easy to find it, it was a pain to get it, nightmare to bring it to Africa....but you know what..it was well worth it.
Now im building it slowly, as i want to enjoy it as long as im here.
It is a different perspective when you do not have a hobby shops around.
Missing a peace of plywood, glue or filler becomes a serious issue.
My story about the Ryan is something i wanted to share with you.
However, i must ask you, since the Vincent has been a great inspiration for me, can i start here all over, from the unboxing and first pin, or this asks for a entirely new topic?
To all participants, thank you once more for lines you edited, it was a joy to read.

Hello Predrag,
It sounds as though you have led an interesting life to be sure of... I hope you enjoy building your Ryan as much as I did. Each piece that you add will give you joy and satisfaction, I know it did for me. This was not the easiest model that I have ever built, and as you said, being so far from all the things that we modelers take for granted here in the States, your road will be a much harder one to travel. I hope that this thread will help you find your way...
I'm not sure if you are asking if it would be alright to add your build to this thread. If that is the case I have no problems with that and would enjoy following along on the progress of your build, but let's ask all that have followed this thread and let the decision be "theirs".
Good Luck and enjoy the process...

If you can't find them in the EU send me a PM with your email address. I have an old set with instructions maybe we can work something out. Do you have a local shop like the FedEx store, UPS Store, local large copier shop that can print from a pdf file? The cheapest way is to have plans scanned and sent electronically or on a CD. My oldest son hold dual citizenship and lived in Germany for 15 years, I know how expensive it is to ship something to Germany from the US.

Sig Ryan
Anyone interested in a built Sig Ryan that flies great but needs some wing recovering?.I would rather it go to someone who loves this plane.I just flew it last week and im reducing my airplane inventory.
Let me know if anyone is interested.Would be tough and expensive to ship.
