I didn't wear out the GMS .76...it was broken in on the Tiger and then removed and placed in another airframe. Then the TH.75 went in for break in and never came back out....awesome engine for this airframe.

Thanks but its not paint....Ultracote covering all the way. Ultracote is my covering of choice...way easier to use than Monocote.

The Tiger 60 is a very nice flying plane, smooth and stable. I don't fly it as much anymore but it still gets out a few times a year.

Mjet, did you get the information you needed? I have the plans and the manual in a box in the garage I can dig out if you didn't. Please let me know.

It is nota very good pic but at least the tiger 60 is back in one piece. I crashed her 2year ago and finally got her about ready. I just have to put on the canopy and balanceher before the spring flying season here in north east Kansas, which could be awhile the way this winter is going.

Matt, Yeah, you folks in the USA have had a rough winter, and it does sound like it wants to keep going. At any rate, nice looking Tiger and glad to hear it will be back in the air soon. Makes yet another tail dragger version out there.

Thailazer, there is an old saying from Will Rogers about Oklahoma weather. He said "if you don't like the weather just wait a minute." He was right, we have been known to have 70 degree swings. It was 18 F when I got up yesterday and tomorrow the high will be 66 F, then it will go back down to 10 F for the low on Sunday morning. All perfectly normal for Oklahoma. In the summer of 1980 we had one town set a new state record with 70 consecutive days above 100 F. The hottest day on record is 120 F. We had another town set a new state record in 2011 for the coldest day -31 F. However the state of Arizona is hotter and is generally warmer than Oklahoma. However, if memory serves me correctly they have a slightly lower state record for the coldest day.

Hello Mike,

Sorry for late reply . I want to build the Tiger 2 ( 61 Inch Wing Span ) from scratch build and I need to cut parts from plan. Pl post the dihederal value of Tiger 2 ( 61 Inch Wing Span ) and Tiger 60 ( &0 inch Wing Span ), if you know.

Thanks

Mjet, I have finally located the manual and plans to my Tiger 2 and I have been through them 3 times. Neither the plans nor the manual list the dihederal value. The wing was built using a center and wingtip supports to set the dihedral angle. I don't even see a measurement for checking with one wingtip flat on the bench. I'll dig out my wing and see if I can come up with something.

the kits come with dihedral jigs. so that when you are building the wing the joining process is supported on each wingtip to supply the correct dihedral. we just need to find and measure the jigs.

Unfortunately I do not have the jigs to my Tiger 2 .40 size. I received only the built wing with no tips, the built fuselage without tail feathers or gear, manual, and plans. The airplane was free and I have sufficient building skills to complete it with just a small investment of balsa.

For the Tiger 40, with one panel flat on the bench the raised panel should be 1 3/4" up from the bench, or if you like 7/8" each panel. This would be to the bottom of the tip rib at the spar location. Sorry, but I cannot help you with the Tiger 60.

Thanks Mike and cutlass 60 for the information, so I will keep 1 - 3/4" dihederal in my Tiger 40.

For Tiger 60 dihederal , I found the below quote some where:

"with one panel flat on the ground the bottom of the other panel is 2-1/2 off the board. the top tip of the wing tip is 4-1/8 off the board, that's measured at the main spar

Angle – 4 Degree"

I dont know , it is correct or not , pl review and check with other fellow aeromodelers.

Mjet.... That two and half inches sounds about right. I have built many models with no dihederal at all and if you have any experience flying, you will not have any problems with dihederal between 2-5 degrees. If I was building it, I would take the ratio of the two wingspans (70 divided by 61) and multiply that by the known dihederal (1.75 inch) for the smaller Tiger. That would give you a figure of two inches. Don't agonize too much about small differences in dihederal, as it is much more important to build a straight wing with no twists. Have fun with the build and post some photos!

I know if I turn my wing upside down there is not 1" of space in the center of the wing to the table. they do not give you specs just blocks of wood to use as gauges.

Good to see you Tiger guys are still at it, alot of nice birds showing up, not to mention a few that went down. Mine is way back so will refresh it a bit, it is totally bashed, plug in wings, shortened canopy and removable center deck and cockpit. All control surfaceses have been expanded, wings are sheeted and a self made cowling hiding a DLE 20cc gasser and of course it's a tail drager. Flies like a banchee and will hover, hope to have it a long time it's a blast to fly.

Am looking to scratch build a Tiger 120, but am having difficulties finding suitable plans.
Anybody got a PDF handy that they are willing to share?
I've got LOTS and LOTS of balsa just waiting to grow into a Tiger 120.

I have currently two Tigers in my hangar, a Tiger 2 from kit, and a Tiger 60 from a kit, both fly very well.

I've had three other Tigers that met and exceeded their expiration dates in the past, two Tiger 2 ARFs and a Tiger 60 ARF.

Here's the current list of Goldberg Tiger members. If don't have a member number and want one, please post your request and a number will be given to you.

Have a gallon of fuel through my engine after the rebuild and everything seems to be staying together.
