I have a lot of time on Tiger 2's (40 size) and Stik 40's (40 size). The Tiger 2 flys faster and lands faster - it can fly like a pattern plane but it's pretty forgiving and slows down well. The Stik is no slouch but doesn't fly as fast as a Tiger 2 - it's been my experience that the Stik 40 tends to be a little easier to land - I can slow it down a little better than the Tiger 2 when it come's time to land. Both are excellent planes and are a lot of fun to fly. I wouldn't have an issue recommending either airplane to anyone - either one would make a good choice for a second plane. I flew my Tiger 2 and my Stik 40 on the same engine and prop (an OS 46 FX with an 11x7 Master Airscrew prop).

Finally got the Tiger back in the air after a period of heavy smoke and then high winds. Put some holes in the horizontal stab Monokote from the gravel on the runway so have a bit of repair to do this weekend.

Having a Super Tiger on Tiger 40 is a great Idea. I belong to India. My State Have 600 Tigers and my town have 8-10 Tigers in near by forest . But I have already purchase a ASP .52 engine for my Tiger.
Landing Gear Block and Dowels made from Solid Wood and dihedral brace from 3 mm ply on both side.
Now I will start cover the wing with Balsa sheets.

Mjet... That is coming together nicely.
Can not imagine living in an area with tigers roaming around. Guess I like to be nearer to the top of the food chain! We have small leopards here but they are super shy.

I was wondering about installing the canopy on the Tiger2 the instruction manual is a bit vague. I assume that the covering is stripped away to glue the canopy to bare wood? If anyone has a different method would appreciate hearing about it.

I drilled mine and used very small flat head wood screws to mount it. I did apply small bead of silicone when I installed it to keep oil from getting in.

Sign me up for the club! Purchased a RTF Tiger 2 with an OS Max FX .46 that my LHS had for sale. The previous owner built it and never had a chance to fly. It had a Futaba 72mHz radio in it when I bought it Swapping the Rx was the only change I made...well, I swapped the cheap wooden 11x7 prop for a 10x7 APC. I've only had the chance to fly it once so far due to weather, but so far so good! This is my first fuel plane after flying Parkzone electric warbirds for about the last 9 months. This is a sweet plane and although I only had it airborne for about 3-4 minutes before I had to land, I can tell this is going to be a really fun plane to fly.

Very sorry to hear about that but it can happen. Keep us posted on the new build.

Next Tiger I build will have the engine angle mounted. Sure makes a lot of sense to get the oil moving down and away. Will take a small cut-out to the fuselage engine cheeks but should be possible.

Just finished the modifications on my gas Tiger III. If you haven't seen any of my previous posts, My brother designed these 92" Tigers from a set of Tiger 60 plans. Our first 2 prototypes came out extremely tail heavy, requiring 2 pounds of lead in the nose. They flew pretty well considering the extra weight, but I put mine on a huge diet, rebuilding the tail section. I was able to remove all the weight except for about 2 ounces. Got the engine (Syssa 30cc) dialed in last night and now just waiting for the wind to die down so we can try it again. Don't know when that will be - not in the next 10 days for sure. Wind is predicted 20-30 every day through Thursday, and then thunderstorms Friday through Monday. Wind will likely pick up again ater that ( I hate trying to fly in West Texas. Good news is that Lubbock is only 3rd on the list of the windiest cities in America. Sorry Amarillo, you won that contest!!

Had my first incident with my Tiger 2 on my 10th flight with this plane over the weekend. I was at my club's annual Fun Fly, had a deadstick on the downwind leg. Fortunately I had plenty of altitude and I was able to get her in. Missed the runway slightly parallel to it due to a crosswind and no power to correct...I was near stall speed at that point. I walked away with only a shattered prop and a bent nose gear. On inspection, the muffler bolt came loose and I had lost compression to the fuel tank. Quick fix, new prop, and tightened everything up in the pit and she went back up 3 more times that day. However, with each landing the nose gear would twist to the side. I brought it home, straightened the gear correctly in my bench vise, and ground a flat spot in the strut for the set screw. Hopefully my nose gear will behave from now on! I was lucky not to have any structural damage to the plane and the steering horn is still intact and in good shape. I was aslo fortunate enough to win a raffle drawing and I came home with a NIB Seagull PC-9 1.20 size

Lonestoner, you really need a member number with two Tigers! Please accept RCU Goldberg Tiger Club Member number 77.
I fly a number of planes on my own strip and every time I take my Tiger 2 up it is one of these "Ahhhhh" moments as it flies so well. Flying at AMA's field must be pretty nice. Are there usually a lot of flyers there?

usually when i get to othe ama field im the only one there, its out in the midlle of no where and its 45 min away from the city so its really peacefull and quiet,so i can focus which leads to better flying for me,its all good.
