Hi all, Long time watcher, First time poster.
Has anyone seen and/or had any experience with the Pheonix Tiger 3 ?
I have a CG tiger 2 that I have been flying, And I love it.
I have another fuse an like to find a wing kit for it.( needed a wing, and had to buy a whole kit) I was wondering if the tigre 3 cord is the same size.Good health and good flying to all, Jerry

Guys,
I have begun the process of installing retractable nose gear (eflite electrics) in my T60. I like the way it's coming together so far, but the front gear strut will be about 7/8" forward of where the fixed gear would have been. Are there any disadvantages to having the nose gear further forward? Thanks.

brockettman, if they are the 60-120 retracts, you may want to return them. I installed a set on a 60 Tiger two years ago and the plane never left the grown again. One retract, or all three would retract before it got off the grown.

I installed Robart(590E & 592E)electrics, have had no problems.

I would return them as well. They are a bad design. Cut your losses now. Go with some spring down Robarts, and you will be happy.

Ok, Well I've pulled the JR Tiger off the shelf and blew the dust off the box.. It's come time to build the new old stock kit. A few mods planed are dual aileron servos, an OS .40FP for power and a tail dragger. Looking forward to flying her I haven't flown one..... wow back in the mid 80's... I will post a few photos as things progress.

Welcome to the group Vince. I took the liberty of assigning you Golberg Tiger Club Member # 82. Would love to see some photos of the 50 inch Junior Tiger as I bet that is a great flyer. I used to fly a lot of 50-52 inch span planes years ago running 28 FSRs and love that size for convenience and fun.

Thanks, I flew a of the JR Tigers back in the 80's but I have been sitting on this one for quite a few years now. They fly great for what they are, in fact my dad had his fly off into the sunset never to be found (long story). Thanks for the number but I should already have one, #47 shown in my sig.

I only saw a Jr. Tiger fly one time. A kid at my club field had one with a very tired O.S. .40. So tired in fact, he could only get it to start with an electric starter and a good prime! The thing I remember though, he was practicing spins with it. Spin after spin after spin. Upright, inverted, flat. He had a blast with that plane.

Good luck on your build!

I have a partially built Tiger 40 I was given a while back (I was saving it from the infamous black bag fate) All I got was plans, fuselage (no tail feathers, gear, or canopy) and the wing minus ailerons. In other words nothing any builder with half a brain and blind in one eye couldn't finish. Recently I received from another forum member the perfect match for it. An old OS .40 FSR engine with a stuck carburetor barrel (he even sent the muffler) for not much over the cost of postage. He didn't need it but he didn't want it just to sit until it either corroded away or got tossed so he made me a deal. I have a long time project going but this summer I may finish it so the grandkids can watch it fly. It will be Orange and White with Hobbs from Calvin and Hobbs, crouching waiting to pounce. Only seems right to have a tiger on the side.

Got a chance to go flying twice in the last 3 days! It was great to get to go out this time of year. Those days are far and few between from the first of the year through about mid-July around here due to the wind. I took my Giant Tiger and all together I put in 7 flights and about 25 landings. That's almost exactly a solid hour in the air! Tigers fly so good. Even great big, too heavy, not exactly square ones. )

Everything is fixable. But, if you decide not to fix the Saito, Sell it to me. A private message works for me.

jkr_1100 you know better ,they are supposto go in the air not the ground . . Sorry for your loss .. I have a brand new Tiger 60 with a OS 95 AX To maiden when weather and time permits . Its black and red . Looks kind of sharp . I wish I could post pics . I will need to keep it in the shade on a hot day to keep the covering from saging . I still have my canopy to put on . I haven't put it on yet because my kit came without the dash decal plus I kind of would like to tint my canopy . I have the dye but I come up with a dash yet . I phoned and asked what it would cost for them to mail me the decal and it would practaly be cheaper to buy the whole kit .

I was flying my giant Tiger the other day when the vertical stabilizer started to flutter. Long story short, the VS snapped off and was dangling by the control rods, then it just started coming apart in the air. First the tail, then the torque ripped off one wing half which opened up the fuselage. All I could do was cut the the throttle, then the CDI and watch it hit the ground. Not a total loss. All of the components checked out OK, and a lot of the rebuild has already taken place. Got the plans from my brother last night to cut some new formers. Already installed flying wires to stop the flutter should I get to ever fly it again. Learned my lesson on that.

Thats a shame Red Raider I am always sorry to see a Tiger go in . You have a good attitude ,I hope see to it back in the air better than the first trial one . It sounds like you had a two piece wing . Do you have any plans for your giant Tiger for sale ? Did you up size a set of 60 plans?

That's it Thailazer stick the knife in and twist hard! Keep those videos coming! Nice flying and nice airplane but I'll still bet on the moon out running you!
My son is in Bangkok last week and this week and I have him picking me up some of those light weight shirts you fellows wear over there as a souvenir . He brought me one on the last trip and they sure come in handy in these hot humid Oklahoma summers.

I picked up a tiger 60 kit just before Christmas. Just covering the wing now, decided to go with koverall and dope to finish the plane. Takes longer than iron on film and is more work but makes a nicer finish I think. Picked up a new OS .91 4 stroke on eBay for it. Looking forward to finishing it up and doing the maiden flight. Will post a couple pics when I get some loaded on my computer.

I plan to start building soon on the Tiger 2 kit that I picked up last fall at an estate sale. I have noticed that many of you have enlarged the tail feathers on the Tiger, How much is a good amount to add on the 40 sized Tiger, And should I cut back on the throws from the recommended settings?

I kept the elevator throw the same, per the guide template provided in the kit. I increased the rudder area and throw considerably for better hammer heads and knife edge.
