This is my new Tiger which I built from my own plans. I sized it around my OS GT 22 gas engine. It has a 70 inch wingspan and weighs 9 lbs. with a 23 oz wing loading. All of the flying surfaces are airfoiled and are balsa sheeted foam. I decided to make it a mid-wing so it has a two piece wing with a carbon fiber wing tube and incidence adjusters. The covering is Ultracote with a little help from Bad Brad graphics. Dallas weather has not yet allowed a maiden flight, either rain, high wind or both for the past month. I plan to eventually build a set of taperd wings for it without dihedral.

Someone else now has my Tiger 60. (See the picture in my hangar.) It was a kit but I decorated it to look like the box picture. Had and MDS 61 on it for 3 years - replaced the 61 wiht an MDS 68 but never got in installed before selling the plane. Only airplane I never crashed yet I flew her more than any other.
Also had as a pilot the infamous Alabama Bar Hag. She was a nude pilot my wife made for me. Brought out mixed feelings at my club in Alabama.

Hello there! The postal service just left this by my door, does this gets me into the Club?... I'm looking forward to build it, it will take me a while since I'm at home only 12 days a month.

I've had the opportunity to fly it a few times, my cousin had one but sold it at least ten years ago, since then I wanted to get one. Finally I've got one!
There are amazing Tigers in this thread, many of them have given me a few ideas to modify mine, although I also feel that I should keep it just like Carl Goldberg products intended to be. Let's see what happens...

Welcome Gerd .von You are in for a great experience both building and flying the Tiger 60 . Have you selected a motor yet ? I have a OS 75AX in mine . I think it is a very good match . Tigers tend to be tail heavy so don't be surprized if you need to add weight to the nose to balance it .

I built another Tiger 60 over the winter and I haven't maidened it yet . I put an OS 95ax in the nose thinking it would be heavier and I would need less weight but it turns out the 95AX is just a little bit lighter than the 75 AX . I moved the engine forward about 1/2" and that really helped . I am actually itching to fly this Tigger .. All ,I need to do is attach the canopy .. I want to tint it first. This Tiger is red and black so I want to smoke the canopy .

I scratch built a Tiger last summer, and it has become one of my favorite airplanes for fun flying. Mine was not nearly as good looking as yours, but it flies so well that I love it anyway. It has a 76" span, 6.5 lb, and has a 91 4c glo engine.
Second plane is a scratch 84", 11 lb. Hots, powered with a 160 2c engine. Your Tiger will probably fly a lot like it does - and that is fantastic.

Go back and read the posts in this thread. You will see that most Tigers come out tail heavy due to the long tail moment. Notice the longer nose on my Tiger shown here. I stretched the nose one inch and the balance came out just right, even using a fairly light engine.

Thanks Tom and that's some nice planes you have there too, in fact, I followed your Tiger build thread. Mine now has five flights on it and I am very pleased. It required next to nothing in trim adjustments and the OS GT 22 runs fantastic and has power to spare. Hope to keep this one as my go to bird for a long time.

Might go flying this sun depending on weather and on call work requirement, but the tiger needed left two clicks on aileron and up two clicks on trim from the maiden, and it has been dialed in ever since, flys great
