Would the Tiger 60 be under-powered with an O.S. .FS-70S? I have one on hand, and am looking for a kit that will go well with it.

if I were to use a Fs 70 on my tiger I would make to use a hi pitch prop and get those rpms up, would be fun to watch prob would be ok, I have a thunder tiger pro 46 on mine and its goes pretty good .

I would probably not use that small of a four stroke. I have a Saito 91 on mine with a Tru-Turn spinner and this helped the cg come out about perfect. Also I found the power to be a great match for the airframe.

Only use the 70 four stroke on the tiger 2 and not on the tiger 60.

I can take over if you like!!!

How is everyone doing? My Tiger 60 likes its Saito 150S. Another guy at our field runs an OS 1.60 2 stroke and retracts.

By the way, if anyone wants to take over the membership roster, please send me a PM. I am in the middle of a move back to the USA and not sure when I will have a bench to build on again. Also, If you want a member #, post on this thread and I will get one assigned to you.

JKR, Welcome back! I will send you a PM with the up to date roster file which corrects a few duplicates on your original list. Will try to paste it here in the next post as well.

I think the DLE 20 will work well. remember because of the long fuse, it takes very little tail weight to balance a nose heavy tiger.

I assume you are reffering to the Tiger 60.

I ran a Saito 125 on a Tiger2. this worked fine. I had to beef up the firewall quite a bit but other than that I really enjoyed the plane.

I'm running an OS GT-22 in mine and it's a very good match. I had to mount the rudder servo in the tail for balance and no additional weight was needed. Though mine is not a traditional Tiger, it has the same overall dimensions.

Moving servos and battery aft sure beats adding more weight.

Rye Leroy put a DLE 20 on his Tiger . It was bashed though . It looked a bit like Russmall's Tiger. It had a mid wing . One thing I think you might run into is prop clearance problems . You may need to put on bigger wheels or something . I think The DLE 20 would be a great match well worth the effort of making it fit . I put an OS 95 ax in my last build and I still had to stretch the nose out about 1/2" .

If he's going to make his Tiger a tail dragger, his prop clearance will depend on the gear he uses. I'm using a 16 inch prop on mine and have a good 4 inches of clearance. Planning to go with a 17 inch after break-in.

I just finished painting my tiger 60. Used Sig Koverall and Sig dope. Masking off the white accents was a bit time consuming. Planning to install an OS 91 surpass II

Hi bikerbc,

I'm on the last stretches of Tiger 2 40 size and wondered if you have any advice on extending the rudder and how to convert to a taildragger? I have heard mention that Tiger 2 can knife edge with more rudder but how much more 1/2-3/4" sound about right?

For a taildragger it seems like adding an aluminum gear set to the fuse is easiest. The pictures show these like a 1/4 inch forward of the lip where the front of the wing butts to the fuse? I already have the std LG blocks in place but to switch their orientation now seems difficult. Moving these in front of the main spar now that LE sheeting is place doesnt seem all that pleasent either. You Feedback on what has worked well for you would be much appreciated.

I just finished a Tiger 60 Deluxe and I have made 5 flights so far. I added 3/4" to the rudder and 1/2" to the elevator. My last two flights I have started to slowly try more acrobatic maneuvers and a knife edge was one of the maneuvers performed. The knife edge performed showed a slow continued lost of altitude even at speed, but I am still warming up to the flight characteristics. I hope that this input helps some. I might try adding more throw to the rudder, but the elevator seems to be pretty close to ideal at the throws given by Goldberg.

My tiger never was able to knife edge with out sinking , not enough fuselage volume to hold up knife edge, the 60 is a very nice smooth flying plane, i had like two summers of flights on it before i wrecked it , now im flying the tiger 40 and its a jittery litlle bugger,
Flies nice though, you gotta do cuban eights and big loops good times.

The manual shows the mod in the back using a gear that is approximately 3-1/2" tall with 2-1/4 diameter wheels I believe, but with that said the gear recommended by lonestoner should be correct.
