Goldberg Piper Cub build/rebuild
Around 1995 I build a CG Piper Cub, flew it for about 6 years, build CG floats for it but never made the time to try them on water then sold it to a club member and I move away, some time after he took it to the lake and the cub went in, the front of fuse was gone, the wing survied and the floats too he said. We talked about the cub a few years later ( about 6 to 8 years later ) I moved back about 2 years ago and recently I have been thinking about the cub parts so I asked him and he still had them, I picked them up a few days ago ( I felt the need for another cub and was contemplating the GP ARF cub )
I had so many years of fun with that cub also got first place on an IMAC turnament ( I was the only one singned up for the sport level so I got first place, easy )
Here are the parts, I have decided to get a new kit from TH, build the fuse only, reuse the tail fethers and the wing, fix and repaint the floats to a yellow cub with a black lightining bolt on the sides.
If you look at the AMA stiker on the tail you can almost read 1995, it has been over 17 years since I build that cub.
I will make her fly again.

RE: Goldberg Piper Cub build/rebuild
Extended the wing about 12" in the center, used two ST 40's which was way overpowered, probably could have gotten by with 25's, flies and looks great in the air.

RE: Goldberg Piper Cub build/rebuild
It has been about two weeks since I posted last, I thought I was going to have this fuse done in no time, but it has some how taken longer than expected, I guest that I don't build or have the same free time as before.
The thing is that I'm building again, had enough of ARFs then again a friend of mine gave me a broken ( easy fix ) Sig Ultimate 46 profile, you could call it an ARF because it is build, and he sold me an old new kit ARF Lanier ( what a call a blast from the past ) extra 260 90/120 for $40.00, what he paid, I could not refuse for that little money.
Anyways here are pics of my progress, the fuse is 90% complete, just need sanding, some painting on the inside, covering and then glue the tail feathers, then some detail all around.
I will be fitting a cowl from fiberglass specialist this time since I will be using a OS 70 Surppass as apower plant ( well deserved )
I got me a new set of the Dubro Cub tires, at the same time my friend found one of the original tires ( he's still looking for the second one ) I noticed that the new ones are much more lighter than the original ones, the feel is not the same is like foam, so I hope he can find me the second tire.
