Help! Midwest Extra
I hope someone can help, I'm building an older kit of the Midwest Extra, but I would like to build it with the updated airfoiled tail.
I was thinkiing that I could just build it from the newer updated plans, if someone has the tail section plans they could part with.
I would also consider doing it in foam, if I can get someone to cut cores for me.
Looking for any advice or ideas please!
Thanks!

RE: Help! Midwest Extra
I just finished this model. Flat tail.
You can't get a conversion for this plane. Midwest doesn't make one.
I did pay them $10 for the plans; thinking that I could trace the rib templates and scratch build the tail myself. Wrong!! There are no templates of the ribs on the plans. Of course, Midwest didn't tell me that it was useless to purchase the plans.
Just build it with the flat tail. It'll fly just fine.
Even if you were able to build an airfoiled tail for this plane- then you'd have to hack it into the fuselage. It would be quite a job to get the incidence right.
If you have to do it with an airfoiled tail, then I'd try to buy the tail section of the fuselage from Midwest. It would have the airfoiled shape already cut into it. But they will probably sell you a complete fuselage kit for $50 or so. And you'll have to try and get them to part with the ribs for the tail also.
