I currently have and fly a Kadet Sr. This is my second one, the first burned up in a shop fire. i fly in fun fly's so i modify mine. I Install ailerons when building it, also I fabricate full flaps inboard. The flaps are about 12" and are from the trailing edge to the rear spar, the ailerons are also that wide. I presently have installed a ST .90 with a performance specialties tuned muffler. This is a very competitive combo. Since I don't sport fly it much I only have a 6 oz. tank installed, I do not want the extra weight in a climb and glide. 6 ozs. is enough to do all the events with extra. at slow speed with full flaps it will stand still even with the nose straight down. I have also programmed in the crow feature and can spot land just about anyplace. it is a fantastic performing aircraft.

Flashpilot...would there be another name for the "Crow Feature" or maybe a simple explanation, I know of Crabs, Hammer Heads, Dog Legs and a few other species but Crows I'm ignorant of.

Sounds like you would be one of those participating in the musical landing event at SIG. That was a blast to watch, and yest first hit had a spectacular mid air.

Crows are big black and very noisy bird
Just kidding Big T

Both flaps down, both ailerons up, great speed brake configuration. It has the side benefit at the low speeds of reducing tip stall a lot. Ya get a gentle straightforward mush at stall.

OK......Crow Brakes. I looked it up and I have never seen a plane with that. Obviously it takes a plane equipped with flaps and the "feature" flashpilot speaks of is a program in his radio. I am guessing this is a common glider configuration which is the excuse I am going to use cause I have never done much with gliders. I am surprised I have not seen it in a radio owners manual or some other reference in programming on a computer radio. Love it!! Learn something new every day!!!

Oh and out here they are Ravens, slightly larger, just as noisy, build log cabins instead of nests, known to carry off small dogs.

OK.....I am done trimming. I don't get the benefit of any artistic genes at all, my own or anyone else helping......so this one kind of turned out a little like my own personality. Kind of Evel Knievel on top and a little silly underneath. The eyeballs kind of camouflage the servos under the wing so they are not as visible.

I still have a lot of work to do on the inside but we'll see how it goes. I'm getting excited to get it out to the field.

I can understand that Skylark-flier, I have two of my four sons living with me temporary and one is a Yankees fan and the other is a Cubs fan. It's even worse when you get them going on soccer!

I love the Big Brother is watching design underneath! All you need now is an open mouth bearing teeth just behind the wing on the bottom of the fuselage!

WOW! That's way beyond impressive - a competition Kadet. Those are HUGE flaps and ailerons - she probably does decent 3D maneuvers too, I'd bet, and take-offs must be more like the space shuttle going up. That's a plane I'd like to see video of - totally entertaining.

Hey, welcome to RCU, the SIG Kadet Brotherhood, and all us crazies. I've got #161 all layed out for you.

BTW, in case you hadn't already noticed, it's gets a bit roudy around here on occasion (like, most every day). Kadet lovers must be a bit "different" (and I use the term in its loosest possible way).

And, being that I haven't done it in several pages (as far as I can remember - which isn't far beyond breakfast this morning) here's the Brotherhood, as I've got it right now:
