Yes it's all built and covered and has a rudder servo installed, it is missing the landing gear but that's not a problem. I thought it was a great deal and will make her a great first plane.

For sure! Always glad to see new brothers stopping by - and I gotta say the building skills I'm seeing around here ALL put my meager efforts to shame. Geez guys, these are beautiful planes I'm seeing.

Schwalbe, gotcha logged with #190, Brayden's got #191 and wood489's got #192. Welcome, all, to the SIG Kadet Brotherhood!!!!!!!

So, here's what we look like today (3-columns):

It's back!!!!!!! New website established and finished. All kits/ARFs are there and current (active/discontinued).

http://wanderings-ds.jimdo.com/

It's a "free" website, so there's going to be advertising on it - sorry 'bout dat. However, price is right and it's not half-bad looking at all.

Only took a couple weeks to re-establish. Not bad.

I spent some time this afternoon cleaning the used LT25 airframe I picked up and it's mostly in very good shape, in fact I don't know if it was ever flown but the elevator has a very bad warp and I'm wondering if you guys know of any way to correct it or if It would be better to just replace it?

Twist it In the direction it needs to be corrected, but over twist it (don't break it though)> The covering should show wrinkles. Hold the twist and heat the covering with your iron or gun to take the wrinkles out. Let it cool while holding the twist in. If not all of the wayward twist is out, repeat the twist and heat routine. It has worked for me. If the covering is silk and dope, I have heard you can brush the twisted area both sides with dope solvent, and then quickly twist in opposite
warp and hold until the dope dries. If it is sheeted, chances are that you have to cut the sheeting and twist out the warp and resheet. Good luck

It's a "free" website, so there's going to be advertising on it - sorry 'bout dat. However, price is right and it's not half-bad looking at all.

Only took a couple weeks to re-establish. Not bad.
Thank you very, very much. However, the SIGRC59 Spacewalker Il kit is for the 1/4 scale version, one of which I have fitted with a Saito FA-130 Twin.

Thankls again for a great job.

AHA! A typo!! You're absolutely right - it's corrected now.

Geez, I'm glad somebody has an eye for details. I've gone through it a dozen times and STILL missed that. Thanks.

Also, just this morning I found pics of 3 new kits - two of which are a FIRST pic.
SIGRC-1 Skyhawk, the 2nd pic is new - taken from worthington auction
SIGKBRC-5 Skyhawk (Kwik-bilt) is the first pic I've ever seen of this kit.
SIGRC13-Cessna170 - newly built from original plans

There are only a few planes that I don't have anything at all on. One day, with some luck, I'll fill out the whole list.

Just for the record, these are the planes that I have ZERO information on. If anyone should find anything at all on them I would appreciate knowing.

SIGCL-5 Fokker D-VII
SIGCL-7 P-47 Thunderbolt
SIGCL-9 AT-6 Texan
SIGCL10 Snipper
SIGCL18 Kricket
SIGKBCL2 P-40 Warhawk

SIGRC-6 Midget-450
SIGRC-9 Buster
SIGRC10 Simco (Balsa wing)
SIGRC11 Simco (Foam/balsa wing)
SIGRC12 Simco (Foam/ply wing)
SIGKBRC-3 Minnow (quarter-midget racer)

I sure am glad this build is over. It started out good but ended not too good. Not real happy with how it turned out. It will be my first balsa trainer since my return to RC flying. So it will serve its purpose. Now to see how it will fly. Not sure when that will happen. I am still doing lots of training flights and getting more comfortable.

Looks great to me - just build at the level your fingers allow you. I think it takes a little time to get back into it, and get your bench/shop/tools in order to fly through a build. Build something else right away. Get some pics and vid of your LT, too.

I have yet to create a model that I'm satisfied with. My goal is to make the next one better than the last. Don't be too critical of your efforts, ET. It looks good, too me.

Thanks. My First build was an Ugly Stik. It came out better than this one so I guess I am comparing them. Now both need a maiden flight sometime in the future. Both will be gas which will be new to me. I'm looking at 4-5 plans now thinking of my next build. It will be a low wing. Just have to decide.

I have a few plans saved on my iPad. The main ones I'm looking at:
The Super Kaos.
Top Flite Contender. This was my first low wing back in like the 70's 80's.
Goldberg Tiger. I don't have the plans but I have lots of pictures n pictures of partial
Plans. Enough to work with I think.

The favorites

The Super Sportster
Fred Reese's. Cloud Dancer 120. This is the one I am leaning towards. 86" WS.

Just a tough decision.

Interesting choices.

I love the Super Sportster series, but my choice would be the Fred Reese Cloud Dancer.

Yes, I agree... All these recent planes look really nice. I like the topside picture of yours ET. Looks great.

Mine is nearing completion. I'm fighting with the tailwheel. I'm going with my own design. I'm on my 3rd try. I'll get it right eventually. Then, I need to mount the motor and ESC and build a battery tray. Maiden might be on ski's.!!???!!! The wing sure was pretty after the last coat of paint....

PiperRon

I gave a lot of thought to the tail wheel. I purchased a tail wheel assembly but in the end I went with my own design. 3/32" wire in brass tube. I made the wire strut assembly with 2 or 3 turns. Similar to the Sullivan tail wheel assembly. The wheel is under the rudder hinge line and turns super easy. I will have to see how it works out.

Good luck with your design.

That wing does look good.

How are you operating it, direct connection to the rudder, spring system to the rudder or pushrod with a servo saver?

Many will roll their eyes when I say the tailwheel I'm installing will be "free wheeling." Not 360degrees but about 45degrees. I thought of running the wire up under the rudder to have a steerable tailwheel but I'm not going to do that. The rudder will have the authority to "steer" the free casting tailwheel.

Will I get thrown out of the brotherhood for doing this.?? Can I get my membership fee back.?? Or will I just pay dearly with comments from the brothers.?? Give it to me straight.... Ha.!!

I thought about going with a rubber band or spring connection. I went with a direct connection to the rudder. I'm using a wheel collar and 1/16" wire for the connection.

Most tail wheels I have seen are installed in a caster fashion. That is wheel is farther back from hinge line. So when you actuate the servo, the servo has to move the rudder, tail wheel and the tail of the plane left or right.

My installation the wheel is under the hinge line. So the servo turns the rudder and wheel but tail does not move. Tried it today in the shop. No airplane movement just rudder n wheel.

Not it sure how this will work out. Will have to find out when I start flying the bird.

Somewhere back in this thread i posted the tailwheel install on my LT-40. Pretty simple install, and works perfectly

Could I get the next number please? I've just started a Kadet Mk2 build...it will most likely take me a while to complete it, but I am determined to do so...thanks!

Absolutely Ken! Glad to see our 2nd brother from down under checking in. You're going to love your Mk-2, by the way. Any plans to put the build in a thread or modifications? My own, which is nearly 2 years old now, has just 1/2 the recommended dihedral and I love it that way.

Anyway, gotcha logged with #193. Welcome to the SIG Kadet Brotherhood!!

And here's the SIG Kadet Brotherhood, as I've got it today (3- columns):
