You might be a kit builder if you spend every Sunday morning cleaning up the shop and finding stuff you've misplaced just so you can mess it up and lose them again over the next 7 days.

......if you have more balsa than the LHS but you still don't have what you need.

.....if you have a 2 car garage airplane hanger shop that you can't park in.

.......If you have ran out of spots to hide stuff, the garage, the shed, the trailer, under the stairs all full

Late 80's Nancy wanted to build a new house and began cleaning.
I said NO.
later again I want to build a new house, Just think you wont have to rake leaves,''
I said well... uuhh NO. We had 2 100 foot pin-oaks in the fenced back yard. I hated raking bought a riding leaf mulcher.
Later she mentioned that I could have 3 car garage, and put Both of my corvettes inside.
No. This place is better than anything I thought Id ever have in my life...
A few days later she again mentioned She would like to build a new house... Just think, You could Move your model building off of my washer and dryer. and Have the entire basement!!!!!
UUHH :How soon can we get this dump listed.

You know your a kit builder when you work out of town and take your project (S) on the road with you.

Sig 1/3 scale Space Walker was built intirely at the Wingate Hotel in Lynchburg VA. The cleanning staff would open the door and evryone would drool over the progress. They gladly vacuumed and dusted up all the mess. The staff was completly into it and the hotel manager wanted to schedule a field trip so they could all see it fly.

You know you are a kit builder when you find yourself looking for and picking up tire rim weights along roads to bring home and melt into ballast for your next project!

For me this is the best one so far. Reading this sitting in a coffee shop laughing.

You know you might be a builder when your friend is going to buy a big 16 oz bottle of ca off ebay, and is going to share it with you, and you are thinking, I might need all of that myself so you order one for yourself.

Your a kit builder if you see a crash as a opportunity, now you have all of the electronics and hardware for that big new kit at the LHS.

I am guilty on many counts so far in this thread.

Well, this morning I came up with a new addition to the list.

You might be a kitbuilder if......

you have reached for your iPhone to reply to a text while building, and smeared wood glue all over the screen. This is followed shortly after by sending a very strange text your father in law because you pushed some buttons when trying to wipe off the glue before it dries.

(May be based on true events)

.......for 30 years you've kept empty Wanderer glider, Bridi Trainer 40 and Great planes Super Sportster 40 kit boxes in the same spot over the work bench at your parents house, somehow never getting up the nerve to throw them away.

I've kept my Eagle2 and Tiger2 boxes AND remains at my parents house for "only" 19 years... ...time does fly!!!

You are a real kitbuilder when your airplane has some of your sweat, tears and blood (or fingerprints) on it.

You sort your T nuts (Blind nuts) by screw size, outer diameter, and height. (There could be some previous experience in this one but I'm admitting nothing!)
You sort your nylock nuts by size, metal, and color of insert.
You sort your cap screws by color, screw size, length and Allen wrench size.

You master the art of cutting out CA hardened fibers from the carpeting & hiding it with some aggressive fork-combing before wifey gets home.
