OLD Easy Built Beaver kit
I "inherited" an old Easy Built DHC-2 Beaver kit, and am working on assembling it. The instructions are minimal (1/2 page) and are generic, intended for more than one model! I am having real problems interpreting the plans as to how the thing is put together at the front to take an electric motor, such that it won't pull off the first time power is applied. It appears that the "firewall" is held in place by four pieces of 1/2" x 1/4" balsa at the corners, and said four pieces of balsa are end glued to the fusilage. I cannot see how that will hold anything on.
Are there any old timers who may have built one of these and remembers doing it? This kit is so old that it came from Beamsville, Ontario. Easy Built has gone through at least two changes of ownership since then and are currently in Alabama. This kit required everything to be cut out, ribs, cabin sides, rudder bits, etc. Leading and trailing edge wood are rectangular cross sections and have to be cut or sanded to shape. Basically, it is one step up from scratch building .
