I added another project to my list, the Rich Uravitch Cessna 195 Businessliner. I had the plans and plastic and the 04/2003 issue of MAN where it was featured so I ordered the cut parts kit (think laser cut short kit) from Rich. The plans do come with a separate sheet of the parts to cut but Rich's price is pretty reasonable so after some procrastination I ordered the kit. The plans and plastic are cheaper from Rich than what MAN wants for just the plans. Rich shipped my kit last Thursday so it should be here in a couple of days.

Nice to see this thread has some activity again. I have a C-182 that I scratch built several years ago that I recently modified to add retracts I designed to make it a 182RG. At 72" wingspan it is slightly smaller than the TF 182 of which I recently acquired the ARF version that I'm also adding retracts.

Nice, but I think I'll stick with fixed gear.

dkurtzid,

Nice plane and gear. If possible how about some more detail of the retract wells and how that main gear was formed. It looks like the real thing. Thanks

If you are interested in Cessna gear there is a build of a Cessna 337 on another board you might wish to check out. He has the same gear enlarged to fit this airplane. The build is of a prototype of a new kit! https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...om-Kits/page19

I'm Following the Carolina Kits Cessna 337 build as well. He is using the larger version of the retracts for the 18-24 lb models.

I'll be getting back to the Top Flite 182 ARF that I started last spring soon. Can't decide whether to add on to one of the existing TF 182 ARF threads or start a new one. It will be focusing primarily on the mods to installing the retracts.

But in the meantime here is another view of the 182rg I scratch built. Also my seagull cessna 337 that I modified to add retracts. Both photos were taken at the Toledo Show this year where the retracts were debuted at the Radical RC Booth.

Hi cjet,
i've attached a photo of the Right retract with the gear in the retracted position as viewed from the bottom. One servo operates the gear retraction and extension and the smaller servo actuates the up/down locking pin.
