lol you guys are too funny! I'm trying to find out what this is so I can get the plans to build the wing this winter. It is definitely a kit-not ARF-looks to be about 10 years old but I'm just guessing

I will retract my "Goldberg Skylane 62" guess. I think the Skylane had see thru windows and this plane does not. First what engine size is in there? .25-.30? .40-.46? or a .60-.65? It looks to be a 2 stroke. This will help narrow down potential wing donors. You will know what size trainer you got, 20, 40, or 60 size. Next is it a flat bottom ( is the wing saddle area flat?) or is it a semi symmetrical ( the wing saddle area curved down about 1/3 of the way back?). Next what is the wing cord dimension? With that information you can research potential sources for a wing that will fit and work.

Just cut a foam core for it. Something in the 50" range, clark y. Put a spar in it and cover with low temp material. Add a bunch of Dihedral and fly it rudder only. Or go to the trouble and add ailerons. Based on all of the dimensions your tape measure is telling us. Should be a lot of fun!

Other factor not mentioned is you will need a wing designed to be held on with rubber bands (common for trainers) not a bolt on type. With the 36"-37" fuselage lenght shown in the photo I would conclude you need a 20 size, flat bottom, rubber band on trainer wing. There is not much on the market today that fits the bill plus very few offer wing kits anymore. Replacement ARF wings are available but wing only kits are hard to come by. Also there are very few 20 size trainers offered today.Tower Hobby offers a 20 size "PT-20 MkII trainer kit" for $69.98 for the whole kit, don't know if they offer a wing kit for this. Also at tower is 20 size "Phoenix Sonic 25" high wing trainer ARF that may have replacement wings available. I think you will find it not very cost effective to go hole hog in bringing this plane back to flying condition.

thanks for the information!
The motor is an os max 25.The saddle is flat, not semi sysmetrical and you are right, the wing is attached with rubber bands. The cord is 7 1/8 inches. I was thinking if I could ID this airplane and get some plans for the wing, I could make the wing from scratch- or perhaps find someone who has a wing that would fit.

What you want is the wing from an Carl Goldberg Eaglet 50. There are other .25 sized trainers that you could steal the wing from though. You want to be in that 45-50" range.
Not sure what your experience is, but to me it would be easiest to just draw some plans. The wing is just a rectangle, and all the ribs will be the same. Other than the 4-5 that are sheeted in the center section. Otherwise, you can get a foam core from many sources cut. Sheet it, then it can be rubber banded on. Or you can track down plans for one of the .25 sized trainers. Or, you can try to find an ARF with the same sized wing and buy it as a replacement part. Many ways to go here. I find them all fairly simple, and unlike what was mentioned earlier, it is a very worthwhile en devour.

Not sure if I'm too late but I cut my teeth on that airplane back in 83. It is a Sig Colt, it had a foam wing, slight taper and no ailerons. Got an old Polaroid or two of it. Oh I loved that little bird. Wish I still had it for sentimental reasons but I sold it to another fellow so that he could learn to fly and he eventually crashed it.

Ah the good ol days before dual rates, before servo reversing, before digital trims, subtrims, endpoint adjustments and expo. The days of telescoping antennas, chicken sticks, frequency pins and waiting to fly because Jim had a plane on channel 46 also. I wish he would just land!
