IT IS COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonight, I received a series of pics for the SIG RC-10 Simco (built-up wing version) from Sean Elliott of the EAA.

I still have one instruction book for the Herr P-38 to find, but as far as SIG kits go, every one of them is now on the history website.

WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to be added to the list. I am currently building a Sig 4* 60 size from kit. I also have and fly a Sig Kadet LT-40 and have an unopened Sig Hog Bipe kit waiting for some attention.

Hmm who is keeping score with the list. I lost track a long time ago.

I got my laser cutter and working on cutting out all the ribs for the SIG Liberty Sport. Can make a short kit with it. The nice part about it is most of the ribs, 15 different ones in all, are the same general size, the spar holes are different on some of them, so I can template the majority of them and just move the holes to where they below for each one. Takes aout 30 minutes computer time to create each rib for cutting, and can cut out 6 ribs in just over a minute. Now to go find some 3/32 balsa sheets.

Got the mirrors and lens cleaned and everything aligned last night. Some tweaking on the ribs is still needed and then get some 3/32 balsa to cut them out on. Too bad I didn't have this before I started building the Sport, then I could have done the fuse parts too.

Looks like a great setup. I see from left side of the machine you have been experimenting. I like your setup.

Cool, looks like you have waste down to a minimum.

With some practice I can cut out parts with near zero waste. As long as parts don't overlap, but just butt together, then the laser can cut two parts as one. I can control those with different colors.

I like the way the laser cuts wood. I have purchased short kits from both established and newly started out cutters and have had good results. The problem is now I have more than I can build! I need to win the Lotto so I can retire and build like mad!

I know the feeling. Same boat, but will be making the kits with the laser myself. The hardest and longest part will be getting the parts off the plans and into the computer so they can be cut. I have a B-17, B-29, Corsair, P-40, and a Hellcat to cut, and a P-61 from National Balsa full kit.

Kits I have the TF P-51D (1/7th scale) TF Sea Fury, Graupner JU-52, Dumas DH89 Rapide, and a partially built TF Corsair. Laser cut short kits I have 2 Ryan SCs, Uravitch Cessna 195, 1/4 scale Globe Swift, Caddell Bonanza, A36, Fournier RF-4D, Bryan Taylor Spitfire Mk 1A (I still need to get the odd size spinner for it), ZIroli Staggerwing scaled down to 90% of the original size, and I'm currently saving pennies for a short kit for the RCM Navion (bought the cowl and 2 piece canopy already). I'm still building on two Ken Willard Sunday Fighters and a TF Cesnna 182.

I still have the TF Corsair and P-51 .60 size all built, but haven't completed yet. I should probably get them done next.

You sound a little bit like me. After a while my attention span for a particular project tends to wander off like a small child in a big store.

Yeah, I've always been surprised that the number isn't a lot larger, but we DO have another 4-dozen that have checked in at one time or another. The Kadet B'hood has 219 with another 4 dozen that have checked in at one time or another.

Social media is one of those things that are hit and miss. They work great for some businesses but not for all. No magic bullets in anything these days.

Anybody else read the article in the August 2019 issue of Model Airplane News "What's in the Future for RC? Eight Experts Weigh In"? When the LHS closed a friend of mine was given the the last few magazines laying on the counter and he passed them along. The article was interesting reading.

I didn't resubscribe after getting what amounts to less than a comic book sized magazine with 50% ads. I had found an old 1999 copy of RCModeler, it was 4 times the size of the current MAN.

I got one copy of Flying Scale Models magazine which has a set of plans in it. Its a lot better than MAN but the downsize is its a UK magazine. That makes it very expensive, the cover price is $14 and subscription for 12 issues is $85 USD. OUCH!

I've found FSM to be a much more informative for a builder than MAN is. MAN has turned into a flight test results folder for new ARFs and Park Flyers. That's not what I buy a magazine for. I'd rather spend the $14 per issue and get the occasional set of plans, how to and more than spend less on a flight test report sheet

Been working on creating graphics for cutting parts out on the Laser, and doing the wing for the Liberty Sport with laser cut parts instead of the die crushed parts in the kit. So far all but 3 ribs are ready to be cut, but I cut some out of 1/8th" balsa instead of 3/32". I have about 10 hours into it so far for the 15 different ribs.

When all done i will be able to make short kits for this plane.
