I used to knife edge my Sr Telemaster. "Reserve power" has its advantages. (It had a CDI FA-150 in the nose swinging a 16 x 8)

I haven't even thought about it, but I never do a clockwise landing except maybe in a deadstick. Doesn't matter coming in from the left or right, always counter clockwise.
I wonder what it is about left turns? But my rolls are always to the right. Now I have some new things to practice.

Sorry guys, the inverted flat spin was do to a catastrophic failure of the 2 meter glider that was attached, a very scary experience, but the Kadet did land safely, probably more do to it's design than my piloting skills.

Absolutely no plan for a repeat performance!

Back in the mid 90's I took my family to the Striking Back airshow in Ankeny, Iowa. Sig had a booth at the show and I walked away with a 1/4 scale Cub kit. After many years of bouncing around the world with work I'm getting back into the hobby and the Cub is on the building board! I've just joined RC Universe and happy to join this Brotherhood!

Welcome Sobo & AllAmerican!!!! Nothing better than a SIG. I have several brands and types but the sig is always my favorite. The owners ans the builders are all great people.

I was just released from the Hospital today. I will be with you guys in spirit and hope lots of pics posted. I was really looking forward to this more than anything in a long time. A place I've always wanted to visit, The Sig family who I've always admired, actually meeting Hazel whom has always been a hero and of course meeting all you guys to shoot the breeze, share in mishaps and celebrate those near misses and greased landings. :-) Lastly picking up, finally after all these years, a real SIG 1/4 scale CUB.

Do me a favor - wear bug spray on those ankles so you don't get a spider visit while on the sticks thinking you guys are lunch. LOL

Glad to see you're back among the living, Bill!!! I'm with you - would love to be able to go see the SIG territories, along with the AMA home field - maybe one day I'll make it. Sure won't be this weekend though, moving our horses to their new home, which will certainly be an all-day affair.

Got a line on an old Stratus & Aerobipe on the VA/WV border that are available for adoption, along with other planes & equipment. Neither has flown in decades, apparently, but I'm heading over next week to take a look-see and maybe become "dad" to a couple more great SIG planes.

Have been lurking and reading all the great Sig stories . Currently building an LT40 and any building tips would be appreciated . I have read some and plan on this being powered by an OS .46 and converting to a tail dragger .

Hi Kevin!! The LT40's that I've seen in action are wonderful planes - have never heard anything even slightly negative about their handling. Only thing I've ever heard, and this was from ONE person, was that he cracked the tail on landing his tail-dragger LT40. You might think about a bit of reinforcement to the very last bulkhead and siding (front & rear of it), right under the front of the horizontal stab. Other than that, all's well.

Use a tail wheel mount with some spring or give to it like the Goldberg tail wheel assembly. You can add a 1/16 light ply as a doubler inside t the rear or the fuse before adding the horizontal stabilizer. But any tail wheel assembly that will absorb those cool tail wheel first landings and you'll be good.
Great flying light loaded plane. The 46 will give PLENTY of power. Use a low pitch prop like a 10- 4 or 5. You will love it.
