Use rubber " well nuts" in lieu of "T" nuts to secure the engine mount to the firewall.

Speaking of SIG 15%, picked up 2 gallons at the Flyin @$15 each, can't beat that price anywhere around here. Should be enough to last me into next year(especially with the lack of flying time I have had so far). So far I have only used about a gallon this year between 2 jugs of Wildcat. I mixed one with some castor oil to give my new engines a bit more lube and ran through half of that, and half of another bottle off the shelf. Been running 15% since day one.

Fixed my Cub ailerons last night, I boobood and forgot to put the control horns in them before I covered them. All is well now.

Never heard of well nuts before, so had to look them up. Seems like a good idea to try.

I've used them for years. I back them up W/nyloc nuts after I crank them down for the desired amount of resilience.

The 4Star20 maidened today without a hitch. A little trim and flew great. The OS26Surpass was plenty of power and the Tactic TSX20 servos worked excellent. Mine came in a little heavy at 3lbs but with plenty of power and a big wing it isn't a problem. My friend Bruce the owner of brucercengines.com built the plane so I thought it was fitting he maiden it.

Default Foam Versions of some SIG Models

If anyone is interested, I have designed:

Sig Hog Bipe as both 50% and 100% Electric Powered in foam.
Sig Kadet Sportster as both 50% and 100% Electric Powered in foam.

Would be happy to post the plans if there is an interest.

Thanks guys, I have another 4Star20 that I purchased at a swap meet but it will require a lot of rework to get it flyable. Hinges are too tight, I don't do inverted engines so that all has to be reengineered, all the servos need installed and set up and I haven't even finalized the engine decision. If anyone is interested here is the 20 next to a 1.20.

OK, It will Take a little time to pull it all together, but here is some on the other site.

50% Hog Bipe

100% Hog Bipe

50% Kadet Sportster

I am cutting foam today, so I will post the Build File and PDF Updates as soon as I can.

Here are the PDF files:

2013587[/IMG]
2013584[/IMG]
2013585[/IMG]
2013586[/IMG]
2013583[/IMG]

and here are the Build Instructions:

I need to figure out how to do this.
Build Instructions is a 4.5mb .docx file and the system won't accept it.
I tried it as a zip, but the file is too large
I then made it into a separate Zip for each page, but most of the zips are too large
So if you want it, PM me and I will email it too you.

Some pages were uploaded, but I can't see how to delete them!

Hey Marty! All plans for SIG planes are welcome. There's always SOMEBODY that's gonna take 'em and build a plane. I say, go for it!

There were six models at the field this morning. Three were Sig airframes, a Kavalier, a Kobra and my Kadet Sport.

That's not a bad percentage.

Thanks. I have built many Kadet Senior kits, probably 6 or 7 of them over the years, each taking close to a month before it can be flown. These foamies you can throw together in a day or 2, and at a fraction of the cost.

Thanks, you're not the only one. LOL I was hoping to have it done by now, but work has taken up too much of my free time for building. Ambitious goal last winter was to have 3 planes completed, and only got one, then wrecked it on its second flight due to a dead stick.

Default Update on 50% Sportster Foamie

Well I got off to a bad start and had to scrap the 1st fuse due to a design error that I missed. I could have continued, but it would have changed the tail moment.

So started again, this is the progress after 2 days, keep in mind that every time I see a problem, I am correcting either the write-up or the flat plans.

The next day will be spent finishing the covering on the tail and fuse, then complete the hatch assembly. Note the hatch frame in place in the 1st photo

Finally, the wing and landing gear, which I need to find the materials, not an easy task in Thailand.

Sure why not? Could have done so had I covered the Cub in iron on, and not have had to work so many nights this past winter. The Cub is almost done, the Corsair is ready to paint, and then assemble the cockpit and radial insert for the cowl. Then I can install the engine and finish up the radio install. Probably have 40 hours between the 2 and they will be done.

My P-51 though has at least another 60+ hours before it will be done, still have to finish the nose, the wing, and then glass it all. Then I still have to do the fairing over the wing. I did finish the Chipmunk, and promptly wrecked it. oops. Decided to pull the gear out of it and use it in something else for now. I will most likely have to strip the covering and recover it if I can't blend the repair in without wrinkling the paint.
