I admire your ambition, but I encourage you to look closely at the effects that your mods have on the model's design.
To me, the sheeting adds weight with no significan benefit.
The fuselage, at the wing's trailing edge, is a common weak spot. I modified both of my Sig Spacewalkers by adding 1/32 ply to that area, and it saved my 1/4 SW's fuselage from a complete rekitting.
The triangle at the tail is a long accepted method for stabilizing the stab and fin. I frequently employ that method, myself.

Yes , I love the kiwi's I've had 4 of them and each one is more modified then the last , to make it better . I've lengthened the fuse 4 in to reduce the wiggle they have, and mounted the engine upright for better starting. Also a few structural mods to the wing and vertical fin for strength. Its powered by a rossi 27r45 so it really runs .Kiwi4

These are some of the same mods I've done, But I've got 1 idea that might help you. Instead of triangle stock of the tail feathers (ugly) I raised the hight of the turtle back formers ,which allows you the angle to fair in all the way back to the trailing edge of the rudder. That gives you a better look and more structure for the tail. Sig has already done this on the Arf model.Kiwi4

Well Guys, I finally did it. Wifey an I went on a action packed 2 week vacation. I was able to stop off at the
AMA Headquarters in Muncie. Then we went to Mackinac Island. The hilite of the trip was on the way home
we stopped off at Sig Mfg. I was able to take the factory tour. I was like a kid in a candy store. This lady
named Mary was very kind and knowledgible. I was able to meet Mike Gretz too. I have been buying Sig products
for about 30 years and always wanted to go there. I enjoyed the Sig tour a lot better than the AMA museum. They
had planes everywhere. They make all their parts for their kits there. I saw the die cutters, laser cutters. injection
moulding machines. I saw the big table where they cut the Koverall. Guys I saw it all.

You bet, they even get cords of balsa and cut it down to size themselves in order to maintain quality standards instead of relying on a vendor. In addition to blending their own fuels. I burn nothing but SIG fuels.

Was at a swap meet today and there were SIG kits galore. Some were recent ones, a few were maybe 25 years or so old, but there was one that is a collectors dream, an original SIG Chipmunk from the 50's. Since I'm a builder and not a collector I didn't get it. I have enough kits on a shelf now as it is, so did not buy any kits, just an engine and a couple batteries.
#1014
WOW! An "early days" SIG Chipmunk would have possibly been the C/L kit, #CL-3. I sure would have liked to get my hands on it - I'm not much of a "box collector" and she'd be in the air by next spring.
And this is the CL-19 kit, Super Chipmunk: I had a friend in Anchorage in 1973-74 that flew one of these with a K&B under the cowl - fabulous airplane.
There WAS a SIG Kwik-bilt series kit, KBRC-1 Super Chipmunk, but I've never found a picture of one. If the plane you saw was RC, it almost HAD to be that one.
Any one of these planes would be a joy to own and fly.

It was the RC version, https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/i...4kmJqzlF6rYeoW

Like I said, its a collectors kit, I would build it, not store it. It was in very good condition, no water marks, just the typical aging. They were asking $150 for it.
I was cleaning up my workshop and it dawned on me, all my flying planes are SIG(except the Apprentice, but I dont consider that one of my "flying" planes). My P-51 is not flight ready, only the LT-40, 4*120 and T-clips are flight ready. Of my other planes being built or to be built, there is my 1/5th Cub, Citabria, and my daughters LT-25, the only non-SIG planes are the CARF 330, the Corsair and P-51's. Right now the only plane I have ready to go is the T-clips. I pulled the 4*120 out of the car.

I think that at least parts of this video are from SIG. It's just a short look but may have to do for those of us far away or without a trip planned - http://youtu.be/W_yO3nlTrL4

It's with heavy heart I report my old mentor and flying buddy loss his well flown SIG 4 Star 120 over the weekend. He had a wing dip on landing and catch the tip. She cartwheeled and exploded into pieces. I'm currently working on him to repair/replace it with another kit built. he is quite the builder so it should be too hard!

Hey Flyer,
Sorry to hear about your buddys 4 Star. I've got one I'm getting ready to start on for a winter project. I've
got a 120 four stroke that needs a home. Bought a set of wheel pants for it also. I saw one on youtube that is
red and white and decided I had to have one. I'm gonna flatten out the wing a little and see how it does.

If he does, have him put rounded wing tips on. They saved me a couple times when dropping a wing on landing, they dont catch anything, unlike the standard squared off tips.
