Dave, this winter has been unreal. Almost not winter at all. It has only snowed three times and it has always melted off within 48 hours. I think we've had less than a dozen days actually below freezing. I've gotten more flying in since October than I have in the last two summers. Daylight is still a problem, but i work a very flexable schedule and can take days off or come in late when ever I want. Well, when ever I want as long as all the bigs are flyable.

Not ONLY that, but it is also signed by none other than Hazel Sig herself!





If you look close, some of you may recognize a fellow member in the bottom photo.

Definitely keeping this one wrapped up. I went through it, they sold a lot of stuff back then, including Saito engines. What is interesting is that the price of the 4*120 is about the same back then as it is now.

Another huge Kudos to SIG. I bought a fresh sealed 1/5th Cub yesterday at Hobbytown. It will be bashed into a Bi-Plane Cub(yeah I am crazy enough to do this). When I got it home I unwrapped it, put the new rolled plans away in a safe place and dug out the used plans from the first kit. I dug out my second wing kit and started going through the parts, found the rib that goes against the fuse, then started looking for the part for the fuse that it mates to. It wasnt there, I inventoried the entire box, and found that one sheet, #21 missing. I emailed SIG yesterday and got a reply back early this morning.

Here is where the big Kudos come from. They know their customers. The reply was the part will ship out today, no questions on where to ship it to, who are you, do you have a receipt etc. I sent a reply to confirm the ship to and they have it perfect. In this day and age of internet shopping ad such, it is great when you can still get great customer service like this.

One of my former lives was in retail. I championed this every chance I got but It was near impossible to convince people, at that time, this concept will win and keep customers. The overriding concern was being taken advantage of by the dishonest minority. So the honest majority got shafted. It warms my heart that companies are "getting it". Those that do "get it" will be around, those that don't.................

Exactly! Bottom wing forward of top wing. The vision in my head is awesome, so hopefully I can translate it into a real working one. It will be the standard Cub Yellow this time, and my sis in law can make me up a sticker for the tail replacing the P with a B on the cub.

Seems to me the way a Cub floats now you would never get a Staggerwing Cub down except by stalling it.

I'm 67 years old and had not built a kit since I was in my teens. I got into RC when I retired and decided to build a kit after learning to fly with a foamy. I built a 4 Star 20 EP with a Power 10 motor. It is the best flying plane I have. I plan on building a larger 4 Star 60 soon.

Flyer's right - you're doing good!! If you think you like the 4*20 now, you're going to LOVE the 4*60! IMHO, the bigger planes always handle better. I love it when guys my age (67 in 5 weeks) find this addiction we call modelling, and it's even better when they find they like to build too.

Hey everyone,
I posted last month about SIG's stellar customer service. Well, they've charmed the pants off of me again! This all happened about a month ago, but life has gotten in the way and this is the first opportunity that I've gotten to post on the subject. I received a damaged Somethin' Extra ARF, called customer service, received a new SE, sent my damaged one back in... done deal. Well, since their customer service is so superb, I was sitting at work and got a big package in and it turns out that they sent me a second replacement when they received my original to compensate me for my troubles ! Although it was tempting to keep, I quickly called SIG and explained the matter to them and they sent a return shipping label to send it back to them. Just a funny little story to tell. Just think, one of you could be getting my sloppy seconds if you ordered a red one recently !
