Sig sold the rights to the Bravo, several years ago.

AMR has them, now. For awhile, they were promising to release the kit, "soon". I haven't heard anything more about it, for a couple years.

Makes me wonder if SIG is going to require you to have the FAA registration along with the AMA number before you can fly at the next Fly In. Hoping AMA can get it settled with the FAA that only Drone operators need it. They really need to classify multi-rotors that can fly BLOS as a drone and leave the rest of us alone.

I was going through my engines and found I may not have an engine for my Citabria. All I have are magnum 91's. Something tells me that would be WAY too big a motor for it. Im thinking a Saito FA-61 or FG-14 would be a proper size. What say y'all? If I go with the FG I will need to plan ahead before I build the fuse so that I can accommodate the ignition. After flying the FG-11 in the T-clips, I found I can use on battery for the RX and the ignition and fly a long time on a charge. I use a 2100mah LIFE with dual outputs.

For the Sig Citabria? I flew mione for years on an OS .48 Surpass. After i recover the plane switching to an OS. 52 Surpass.

i had tried a Saito .65 Four cycle on it and hated it. Lots of power but made it too nose heavy and I did not need all that power on it. Flies very scale with the .48 - .52 Surpass IMO.

Yeah after checking specs on the FG-14, its based on the 82 case, so the FG-11 is better suited for the Citabria. I have one in my T-clips and its a very good running engine, flies the plane beautifully. The weight is not much more than the OS 52 even with the ignition. Somewhere I noted the weights between them. the beauty of the FG is the economy of them. I have yet flown my T-clips long enough to use a half tank of gas. After 20 minutes of flying, its time to land, and less than a 1/4 tank of gas is used. I can easily fly for an hour or more, who knows, if I fly at 1/4 throttle, which is a nice steady slow putting around speed, I could probably stay up for nearly 2. Would be a great contender for longest flight time.

My LT-40 has an OS 52, with an 8 or 10 ounce tank, and I get about 14 minutes on it, the T-clips is a 12 ounce tank. So I can fly on 2 ounces of gas for what I fly on 10 ounces in Nitro, so the more I fly it the more I save.

Here is my completed flight box. I must say Sig puts out one heck of a nice kit for these. Everything was nice and straight, fitment was perfect. I placed 1/4" adhesive backed neoprene in the bottom of all the outside compartments for padding and protection. I have it set up so I have all my stuff for flying gas or glow in one box.

New question:
I have made a mold to use for vacuum forming a canopy for a SIG 4-Star 40. I would like to use .020 or .030 thickness plastic. Can someone tell me the best type of plastic to use for this? If not can someone point me in the direction to find out this information?
thank you

Sig sells the clear plastic sheets in both thicknesses and can also supply formed canopies for both the kit built or the arf version.

I am putting a new wind screen in my 1/4 sig cub and would like to mount all the windows flush to the exterior of the model. Does anyone of photos of the wind screen bottom corners fitting in to the vertical frame. I think I will have to thin the sheet here to get it all nice and smooth...

Hey Brotherhood members, it is with great sadness to announce that Mike Gretz has passed away. I met him at Toledo a few years ago, and had several great conversations with him. He has always been helpful, and if I had an issue with a kit, he was always there to help. My condolences to his family and fellow workers. He will be sorely missed at this years Toledo show and flyin.

Hey Super08,

Nice job on the Sig tote I built one 10 years ago I think. It was the first time I worked with something that was laser cut and was happy at how well it went together. Down side is it holds a lot and can take 2 guys to get it out of the truck at the field. lol

Mike has helped so many, for so many years, it's like losing a family member. Among other things, he was pivotal in my start of the SIG history website.

Blue skies, Mike!

Thanks Alan, yes it will be a chore not to get carried away with how much stuff gets put into it over time.

I attended the services for Mike Gretz today in Lakeville, MN. Very nice service and well attended.
A separate memorial will be held in Montezuma on Feb 6. I do not have the time when the memorial will be held.

PipeMajor, thankyou for attending Mike's services (I think it's fairly safe to say you represented all of us that are too far away to go) and including the obit - it was VERY nicely written.

Hello Sig Brotherhood,

I´d like to share with you a video I made of my SIG Smith Miniplane with an onboard camera.

It is not a big deal, but I believe it will please the lovers of that great small biplane from SIG.

Regards from your friend in Brazil.

I think a cam in the cockpit of a 4*120 would be awesome, but I am too cheap to buy a camera just for that. LOL Besides, where would Garfield sit.
