Aww thats too bad. I just pulled my Ultimate 10-300 out of the trailer to prep it to be stripped, glued up and recovered. It is very similar to your plane. Someone is selling the kit in the Ultimate 10-300 thread.

I do have another sundacer that I could get ready for sig next year but the 168 will take all my time I think.
Also have a double Senior Rita that I wouldn't mind flying next year. Haven't had that out in a long time. I finally have a engine big enough to fly it with some authority.

I do know that it takes time to make sure all the I are dotted and the T are crossed. So that when we do receive the kit that it is in the best quality and ease of assembly as possible. I would rather wait for a little longer to make sure that the Rascal 168 is complete and hasslefree as possible, as all Sig kit have been im the past. Be patient such as i have and we will all enjoy another great Siig kit.

I had one of these. I put the upper wing hold down rod in wrong, it did not survive the flight! Nice looking plane, but now I only have bipes that fit in my Grand Caravan assembled, no more field assembly for me.

I don't know how to explain it. So here it goes the eyelet that is in the wing slides into a groov on the cabane and the bolt goes through. And you can miss the eyelet and still clamp it down enough to get a false sense of security. You fly and the wing comes off. In other words yes its easy to do.

The CG 10-300 uses a piano wire to secure the top wing to the cabane. It is easy to see if you missed, the back of the wing can be lifted off. Getting it in though is a royal PITA, so I leave the wings attached.

It is possible to build the clip wing kit into a 2 piece wing, but the easiest way may be to buy the full wing kit, and then clip the wings.
The full wing kit already has the two piece wing designed into it, and all the parts are there to do so.

I guess that would be the best way to go. I was going to get one from tower but they only sell the clip wing version. I could save about $50 with tower over the full wing version from Sig.

Strange, the SIG Mfg website lists the one piece wing 1/4 scale Clipped wing Cub for $239.99 and the two piece wing 1/4 scale Cub with the full wing Cub at $245.49, that's only a $5.50 difference probably the cost of parts to build a two piece wing. I would go with the full wing get the two piece wing then take a couple of innner bays out to turn it into a clipped wing Cub. Except for the wing construction everything else looks to be equal.

I think the full wing is still a better way to go.

(I love my FW Sig J3 with Zenoah G23. Have plans for FW, may scratch build a CW for it also, with bigger engine)

Maybe call them and ask if they can get the full wing version for you? Worth a call? Good luck.

l also have a Gen 1, 100 inch Hanger 9 Cub, Solartex covered, with a "scale" LG? I fly mine with a YS 120 FS. Wish I could fly both at the same time. Good luck with your Cubs.
A Happy Thanksgiving to You and Yours.
