I bought a Somethin' Xtra and put a 6 cell 5000 maH Lipo in it. Could not get it to fly right with that huge battery in it - it was a wild untameable beast. Finally just put a 5-cell 5000 maH Lipo in it and it was a much smoother flyer.

What motor are you using? The kid at sig this year I thought had a large liPo. And a large motor and I thought it flew great. But I could be wrong. It was fast.

Don't know, don't fly wimpy electrics. I want mean loud obnoxious 4 stroke sound in mine. Once you hear a Gemini 120 twin roaring across the runway, you don't look back.

Just checked your models under the "My Models" tab. You've got an EFlite T-34 Mentor and a EFlite Apprentice. Both of those are electric - right? That Apprentice is a great float plane btw.

Oh wait - looks like you stuck a glow engine in the Mentor. Never mind.

I only really have a couple of electric planes. I crashed the electric 4*54 so i put the set up in my new something extra. Hoping to get the performance like the kid had at Sig this year.

I'd like to have performance like that too in my Somethin Xtra. If you find out what battery/motor he had in his plane let me know.

I'm thinking maybe my plane would fly better if it was flown by a pilot younger than myself! Somebody with a better back, better neck, better eyesight.

I just now viewed a couple of video's on YouTube featuring the Somethin Xtra. Mine flies just like the videos .... wanted to see it do a rolling circle. That's my goal next year ... do a rolling with my Somethin Xtra.

I have only been able to do that with a kadet senior with a shorten wing, barn door aileron, and a OS 70 4 stroke. I need practice with the 4*120 and the something extra.

The Mentor is no more, traded that to a friend and he crashed it due to radio failure. I haven't flown the Apprentice since the 2015 Flyin. In fact, the last electric plane I flew was at that fly in when I pancaked the Twin Otter on landing. I still haven't finished the repairs on that one, so hasn't been flown since. The Apprentice is hanging up in my workshop collecting dust. Saving that for when I teach my son to fly and he can fly that, provided he learns proper battery care and doesn't blow them up.

My Kadet Senior Sport and Rascal 72 are both electric. Both perform as well as any similar glow powered model.

Lately, those two models have been flown more than any others in my fleet.

Nice plane there Twin. I have the counter part to your King Kobra. I picked up the Kougar this year. I need to get more time on my Kadet MkII, then I'll get my Komander back in the air and then I'll build the Kougar and get it flying.
I haven't flown in 20 years and just getting back into it, I hope I didn't lose my touch.

Late to the party as usual. I have a Yak 18 kit nib and a third scale Spacewalker that is framed up and need finishing. My current Sig flyer is a Wonder. I would like to join the group.
